Citroën calls their newest concept car, the C-Métisse, "out of this world", and a sleek look with a 45 mpg rating is certainly a rarity here on Earth. Featuring both rear and front gull-wing doors, the C-Métisse features a HDi V6 diesel engine, coupled with a diesel particulate filter system, and two separate electric motors on the rear wheels, which are capable of developing 400Nm of additional torque. The best news for green car enthusiasts is that the C-Métisse can drive "around town" in Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mode (no details on exactly how far or quickly driving around town means). 0-62 mph takes the C-Métisse 6.2 seconds, and the car features a 'boost' function that activates combines the torque of the combustion engine with that of the electric motors to enhance performance without pushing up fuel consumption.
