Tom Cruise first to receive $72,500 carbon-fibre superbike

Tom Cruise is on the top of list to get Ducati's new $72,500 superbike, the Desmosedici RR, which was released this week. The bike uses lightweight but strong titanium, magnesium and tres green carbon fiber. Specifically, the rear seat support is made from high-temperature resin type carbon fibre, only found in racing bikes. The tail also includes a ceramic carbon fibre composite cover, the same technology used in F1 cars.

Tom has received some criticism in the press recently because of a video circulating the internet. We hope being the first to own one of these limited-production (only 1,500 will be made), 200 MPH bikes will cheer Tom up a little. Tom Cruise proves Scientologists ≠ green by spending $1,000,000 a year on fuel

If you've got it, why not flaunt it (and make a total fool of yourself in the process)? That seems to be the slogan of the world's most famous Scientologist, Tom Cruise. The once-cool movie star (seriously, remember him in Top Gun?) is acting about as outlandish as celebrities come these days, as his fuel spending habits prove. According to a note in Star (wait, are we quoting Star now? Oh boy) that's repeated on MSNBC (that's better), Cruise spent close to a million dollars (!) on fuel in the past year for "his Porsches, his homes, his planes and his motorcycles," vehicles that a source said he liked to brag about. Yes, that's planes with an s. Apparently he owns four of them. What a tool.
