Science Museum in London to feature Nissan Pivo scale model
Filed under: EV/Plug-in, Nissan, UK

As part of "The Science of Survival – Your Planet Needs You!" five-year traveling exhibition, London's Science Museum will feature a scale model of Nissan unique Pivo concept, first shown at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. The Pivo electric car is powered by lithium ion batteries and is capable of crab-walking its way into tight parking spots due to its 90-degree rotating wheels. The Pivo also eliminates the need for a reverse gear, as its cabin is capable of rotating to face in either direction. In-wheel electric motors can spin forward or reverse, offering nearly unlimited maneuverability. The machine looks pretty strange, so we can't really imagine seeing it on the road any time soon, which is fitting because the museum's display is supposed to reflect how environmental changes could effect our lives in the year 2050.
Nissan is co-sponsoring this display, which is a compliment to the Nissan Green Program 2010.
