smart cdi coming to the UK in 2009 {Autoblog Green}

Jun 20th 2008 1:31PM How about a Smart Fortwo diesel for the US market?

Father's Day Sweepstakes, Day 1: Wholesalekeychain.com Keychains! {Autoblog}

Jun 16th 2008 3:10PM Not for me, but for my older, yuppie brother (who actually owns a Beemer M convertible!), the BMW M series keychain. BTW, happy father's day Steve! Rebecca is a beautiful girl! (what is she? Fifteen? Wow, I'm a lousy uncle!).

Honda testing ABS brakes on CBR600RR {Autoblog}

Jun 14th 2008 1:39PM Good for Honda! Perhaps ABS would have save my oldest son's life. He crashed his Honda six years ago (he entered the corner too fast, braked too hard--locking the front brake-- and went over the handlebars, hitting a tree and dying instantly). Chicago lawmakers trying to get taxi fleet to clean up by 2014; cabbies not happy {Autoblog Green}

Jun 13th 2008 3:22PM Sorry! I meant to say: "Here's an idea: Why doesn't CHICAGO offer the cabbies interest-free loans to install Poulsen Hybrid conversions? Sometimes, the carrot works better than the stick!"

Spy Shots: 2009 Ford Ka spotted outside Polish factory {Autoblog Green}

Jun 9th 2008 3:42PM Ford showed prescience with the Model T. Perhaps Mr. Ford will again show his foresight, by bringing in small, economical cars, with petrol rising to $5 a gallon... Or, as Bob Dylan said, "It doesn't take a weatherman, to see which way the wind is blowing."

Man in the Box: Driving the 2008 Nissan Cube {Autoblog Green}

Jun 9th 2008 3:18PM Hopefully, Nissan will keep the AWD in the US version. My current vehicles are a Subaru Impreza and a Ford Bronco... the Bronco is a gas hog, and something like the Cube (with 4WD for snow-- we get LOTS up here in the Sierras!) would be nice alternative for a daily driver.

MiTo convertible coming to the US in 2010? {Autoblog Green}

Jun 9th 2008 3:14PM Awesome! My brother owned a 1964 Giulietta Sprint, which I was lucky enough to drive one year (we traded cars-- he used my '58 VW bug to deliver papers, and I drove the Alfa to Santa Monica High School). Alfas are amazingly wonderful driver-center cars. Now, if only the MiTo keeps the Alfa mystique intact!

Spy Shots: Toyota iQ prototype spotted in the wild {Autoblog Green}

Jun 9th 2008 3:12PM Okay, the IQ is TOO cute! Hey, Toyota, since it is called "iQ" how about an advertising campaign using the image of Albert Einstein? Get it? "You don't have to be Einstein to realize how smart it is to buy a Toyota iQ!" Come on, Toyota, timing is everything! Gas is now $4.45 a gallon in Susanville! And the iQ is WAY cooler than the Yaris!

A little background on Mahindra and the Scorpio hybrid SUV {Autoblog Green}

Jun 7th 2008 3:10PM My current truck are: '96 Ford Bronco (15 mpg) and '64 Chevy truck (16 mpg). So, yes, I would consider a Mahindra IF the quality is up to western standards (unlike the Indian Enfield, which was junk). In fact, a fellow here in town sells Mahindra tractors, but I've heard nothing, pro or con, about them.
