Apr 22nd 2008 7:30PM So Instead of paying farmers to not grow corn we let them grow corn which is used to generate ethanol which offsets the consumption of gasoline. therefore reducing the price of food. or you can reverse the logic but you can't have it both ways. more corn less taxes more money in the economy more fuel in the mix lower cost to produce food.
the problem I hear is not a lack of availability but a decrease in the value of the monetary exchange rate. We are at War that costs money suffer through it with dignity folks.....

May 29th 2007 2:46PM Random Notes. The inflation adjusted price of gasoline is 2.77/gal since 1970, current price is 3.34/gal in N. Cal - California reformulated price refinery profits are less than 5%. State local and sales taxes are 42%. remove them and gas is 2.35/gal. A barrel of oil at 55 gal/barrel cost 1.09/gallon. UPS Ground shipping from the Martinez Ca refinery to N.cal, zone 8, is $5.88/gallon. Go Figure.

Apr 4th 2007 6:33PM Before You go shame'ing some one for looking at alternatives. and before you fall in love with Hydrogen as a fuel be aware that unless the Hydrogen is generated "Green" that is to say "the oxygen that is generated at the same time as the Hydrogen is released int0 the atmosphere"
The end result of burning Hydrogen is the depletion of oxygen in the atmosphere (it become intrapped intothe water molecule, H2O) and on a large scale it will happen in a very short order. I for one can deal with warmer weather but I can not deal with less oxygen in the atmosphere.
