VIDEO: ReD DynaMix innovates with Segway {Autoblog Green}
May 22nd 2008 11:37AM automotive means self-propelled, and the Segway is. It's also electrically powered, which means it isn't dependent on fossil fuels. If the electricity put into it comes from renewable sources, it qualifies as green.

May 15th 2008 4:47PM oops, I should have said Mike Rigby. Don't know who Pat is!
Paul McCartney's Lexus LS600H delivered by plane {Autoblog Green}
May 15th 2008 4:46PM I wonder if Pat Rigby is any relation to Eleanor...
"Beatles front man?" Puh-lease. John Lennon and George Harrison are rolling in their graves.
Seriously, though... every "green" car should come with a statement about the carbon footprint of its manufacture and shipping. How much of the presumed benefit of driving this thing was nullified by making it and flying it to Sir Paul?
Green Vehicles' Triac officially coming in July, for reals this time {Engadget}
May 15th 2008 1:41PM You're confused. They make two NEVs (the Microwatt and the Moose) that can only be driven in 35MPH or lower speed zones, but the Triac will do 80MPH and is freeway-ready. Read the specs.
Triac to arrive this July, reservations being accepted, and other juicy details {Autoblog Green}
May 15th 2008 1:16PM Virgil, the "vehicle specs" PDFs have the base prices of all four vehicles along with the price of some optional equipment. The Triac discussed in this article is $19,995; the Buckshot truck is $17,995; the Moose NEV is $12,995; and the Microwatt NEV is $11,995.
That said, I'm also skeptical, and reluctant to gamble the 10% deposit. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is.
SAE Congress '08: Raser to show Series PHEV drivetrain for trucks {Autoblog Green}
Apr 14th 2008 10:52AM Chris, I rather think Kevin meant to say "used," not "sued." I thought he was suggesting standardization - which I think might be premature at this point, but would be better than litigation. ;-)
Top gear drives the Smart ED, isn't terribly impressed {Autoblog Green}
Apr 4th 2008 11:03AM Throwback, I too live out in the country, and having recently changed jobs, I work downtown. My commute, depending on the route I choose on a given day, is 22 to 30 miles one way. Any side trips and I'm probably over 70 miles a day. But that's a consequence of my own choices. One of the inconvenient truths you and I face is that to be green, one should live small. Live near the office or work near the home. Shop locally. Learn to economize on mileage. Take only necessary trips, and plan ahead to get the most out of every mile. Use an EV when you can, and a gas burner when you must - and don't blame others for your own lifestyle choices.
TH!NK could be put on sale in Australia {Autoblog Green}
Apr 3rd 2008 10:49AM > Th!nk's efforts are focused on selling the car in Europe and America
I can't find anything on the company's website or blog, or via a Google news search, about any plans to bring the Think City to the US market. One web source from 2007 said they expected to sell it in the States in 2008. Somehow I doubt that's going to happen. More's the pity; it's the first "city" EV I've seen that would meet my needs - assuming it would accommodate my 6'5" frame.
Car of the decade: Tesla Roadster or Porsche Cayenne? {Autoblog Green}
Mar 27th 2008 9:50AM The decade isn't over yet! If someone gets to market with a BEV or PHEV for $25,000 or less that wil go 100 miles on a charge, they'll get my vote.
