Aptera series hybrid will have 1,000-mile range {Autoblog Green}

Jul 6th 2008 10:53PM I don't care what anyone says. for or against this car. The chance to get over 100 miles per gallon, I'm buying one NOW!!!
Thank you for finally making a car that gets well over 100 miles per gallon. And the big multi-million Dollar automotive industry couldn't even do this and they've been making cars for over 30 years, and some for about 100 years. If Ford Could have improved the fuel efficiency just 1 more mile per gallon, with each year that passed, in 100 years of making automobiles they would have today, made a car that could be for sale to the general public, that would actually get 100 miles per gallon. And they couldn't even do it. Instead of being angry at Ford, General Motors, and Toyota, and Chrysler and all the other Automakers for not making a car that gets at least 100 miles per gallon. I'll just be grateful and happy to buy an Aptera Hybrid. And no, I don't care if it has three wheels. I'm in an enclosed department with two doors and it's totally unique looking. All the reasons I'm buying one. And 130 miles per gallon if I don't plug it in is pretty good by any standards. And giving me about 330 miles per gallon when plugged in at night, for the first 100 miles driven on any given day, is enough to give me a great big smile. Thank you thank you thank you. And as for the Automotive industry/business that only understands how to do business as usual, You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Thant includes the sometimes referred to as "Big Three"(Automakers). I'd like to see the company that makes the Aptera become, "The Big One".

Alt Car Expo 2007: Terry Tamminen drives the future {Autoblog Green}

Oct 22nd 2007 3:34PM What people need to know is, the only way to get off the oil addiction tit, is to get plugged in to electricity at home. this allows at home fill ups with electricity. it will put big oil out of business and in a hurry. they are frantic. I would be too. Thats why you hear all this, Yeah, fuel cell cars, here soon, only ten to twenty years. I'm plugging in at home, I'm going electric. Go Plug In America!

Oct 5th 2007 6:30PM The Plug-In Prius is the most exciting technology available to us today. I'm so excited about it. I couldn't care less about fuel cell vehicles and I hate hearing about the promise of some day. Make/build plug in Hybrids now, sell them now, and the world will change overnight. I can't wait, and I won't. I'm having my prius converted to plug in by EDrive systems or HyMotion. Today. And when someone builds a Plug-In Prius/ or Hybrid, I'll buy it preferably from the factory, rather than an add on conversion. Lets go toyota,what happen to Moving Forward. Stop talking about plug-in technology and get the damn cars on the road for purchase.

Toyota ready to test plug-in hybrid in Japan {Autoblog}

Aug 3rd 2007 4:24AM Just remember that every gallon of gasoline burned in any vehicle creates 19 Pounds of co2 gas, which is a global warming gas.

I love the idea and reality of plug-in hybrids. I will buy one as soon as toyota puts one on it's lots for sale. meanwhile I drive my 2004 Prius Hybrid getting over 40 miles per gallon on any given day with the AC on full blast and driving 85 miles per hour on the highway. You Go Toyota!

No new Honda Accord Hybrid, diesel will make its debut {Autoblog}

Jun 22nd 2007 3:26AM Thats really too bad. I was looking forward to a Plug-In Hybrid or full electric car from Honda. I can't believe Honda is staying with the Internal Combustion Engine technology, so outdated. how sad, and boring. I would never buy a diesel, unless it was a plug-in hybrid electric choice vehicle.

Jun 10th 2007 12:49PM Tesla already did this many many years ago. Nikola Tesla, been there done that. Well, ok. here we go again. this may happen for small devices, but take into consideration you're putting battery companies out of business. Oil Companies and Big Three Automotive won't let this happen. just like the battery patents. Can't even get Chevron Oil to let go of those NiMh batteries. Like I said, been done before, if you can make it happen, get past the political bullshit, then good luck to you. and with the military funding your projects definitely means hush hush, on the system. they get it, the public don't such bullshit. anyway, good luck to you guys. I know you can do it, Have already done it or we wouldn't be having this conversation. Period.

Dan Neil doesn't think the ForTwo is so Smart {Autoblog Green}

Jun 2nd 2007 11:06PM I'm Selling my Toyota Prius to Buy the Smart for two car. I test drove the Smart for two in Glendale California at Colonial Honda's Environmental Motors. I totally love the Convertible, very nice drive. sitting inside this cute car, felt very roomy. plenty of space. very safe feeling. I'm going to convert mine to Electric though, the way the original inventor of the Smart for two Intend it. Does anyone know who does conversions here in LA. the only person I know of is Gadget at Left Coast Conversions in Los Angeles. I wanted to get some competitive pricing on the conversion though. Imagine filling up for about five bucks worth of electricity and driving all week on that. nice! Good car otherwise, totally love it!

VIDEO: Chevy Volt Chief Engineer answers questions {Autoblog Green}

Jun 2nd 2007 7:20PM Dear Nick Zielinski,

This is the most important move GM could possibly make. But my advice, Be a little more open minded when it comes to how you approach the packaging and selling of this car. Everyone wants this car now, And they don't care if you put the 100 year old proven Lead acid batteries in Your Volt. Even if you could only achieve 10 miles of all electric driving, People would be very happy to be driving this technology. You said people would be unhappy with upgrading the batteries in a few years. Come on Nick, Include the upgrade in the price of the sale of the car, Sell the car now, when the newer batteries are ready, people bring their cars in, and a day or two, bingo new batteries(and programing .ect), Newer technology. Start with Lead acid, or Nickel Metal Hydride(like the Rav-4 electric vehicle still on roads today with more than 100,000 miles and those are full electric vehicles, much harder on battery life compared to your Volt car). Put these cars on the roads of America and you will rise to the number one automaker position in the world(people will love and respect you as well, right now everyone hates GM for what GM did to the EV-1, for starters). If you really wanted to put these cars on the road, You would not wait for the perfect battery, The perfect battery will never exist. A good battery will get better and better over time, As your research and development team develops better and better batteries over time. And with Ultracapacitors getting smaller and smaller, the future may not even be a better or perfect battery. Ultracapacitors take a charge instantly and last millions of charging cycles. This is very very good. Nick, if you really wanted to put the E-Flex Volt car on the road today, you would do it. This is why knowone believes that General Motors has any intention of actually bringing this car into production. When I called GM yesterday, They(several different departments) told me they have no intention of making this car a Production Vehicle and that this car is "strictly a concept car"(And I even have messages on my answering machine stating this as well). That again is a conflict of information. This is all so common with General Motors. Mixed messages. So what is this hope to have these on the road by 2010? Don't answer that. Please just build the car. My next car will, I hope, be a full Electric car. And I will buy this car, from the first Manufacturer that builds one, for under $30,000. Will it be you? I've already lost hope for/in General Motors. I'm Sorry, I wish I still believed in you. Your EV-1 was the most Advanced and Amazing Technology Vehicle I've ever seen, Ever studied in my life. And just because the batteries were not "Perfect", You Took the cars from happy customers, and crushed them. Furthermore GM charged hundreds of dollars for scratches and damage to the cars;to owners, before smashing the cars in crushers. I don't believe GM cares about it's customers satisfaction, but rather is greedy for money at all cost. even the cost of your own survival as a business/Corporation/Automaker. So, do I trust you will build the Volt. No, I do not. The Volt, like the EV-1, Is To Good To Be In The Hands Of The Public. It will not break enough, and thus GM will lose money on Repairs, Just Like The EV-1.

Sincerely Joseph M.

Honda plans to introduce an entry-level hybrid in 2009 {Autoblog}

May 25th 2007 8:20PM Honda doesn't even make a full hybrid yet. like the toyota Prius. The Prius can drive in all electric in city driving. the honda, otherwise known as a hollow hybrid or stop start hybrid, can't even drive with electric only/silent operation. what a joke the honda Hybrid technology is. IMA they call it. intgrated Motor Assist, bullshit. this is fraud. Honda shouldn't even be allowed to call there cars hybrids. test drive one, as soon as you let of the brake pedal, from a complete stop, the gasoline engine starts right up. it's the same things as turning your car off everytime stop the car, then start it back up when you push the gas pedal. First, build a real Hybrid, then talk about design. I can't believe most people fall for this shit/crap. it's called greenwashing and it's the reason the Honda gets minimal gas savings compared to the Full Hybrid Synergy Drive System toyota invented. it's the Reason the Toyota Prius Hybrids can be easily converted to be electric cars, see pluginamerica and calcars. it's because the electric motors, yet Toyota hybrids have two large electric motors, have enough power to move the car without gasoline whatsoever. Also see GM and all the other liers out there greenwashing. it's the reason Toyota is dominating the Hybrid industry, because most people don't fall for just the name. they can see past the Body and see what's under the hood. Bravo Toyota, good luck honda!
