Volvo pinning hopes on small cars, diesels {Autoblog Green}

Jul 3rd 2008 8:38PM The reason they didn't metion the Recharge is because PML Flightlink has snookered Volvo into a 10+ year long R&D wild goose chase to perfect wheel hub motors. So that project, at least how it was originally planned, will NEVER see the light of day.

Living in suburbia now even worse {Autoblog Green}

Jun 27th 2008 10:01PM "If you had told someone in 1880 that someday people would regularly travel dozens of miles in a single day..."

If you told someone in 1880 that the world population would be 6.7 billion they wouldn't be surprised that there would be urban sprawl. You just can't pack the cities as much as the pundits would like you to believe.

The world is in dire need of:

1) plugin hybrids
2) more public transportation
3) CONDOMS!!!!!!

Jun 27th 2008 9:56PM If you're going to use lithium, have the guts to use a big enough pack to get more than lead-acid style ranges. They are wimping out here. Until we have charging stations all over, these cars need enough range to get to and from work on one charge with some buffer left to spare.

Mitsubishi's electric car plans revealed {Autoblog Green}

Jun 17th 2008 3:55PM I think it's safe to say we can scratch the iMiev off the list of relevant electric vehicle projects. Like Volvo, their roadmap is too slow and the lease business model is DOA. Only GM is moving ahead at the proper pace to have vehicles on the road before oil prices cause an irreversible meltdown of the auto industry.

Jun 8th 2008 11:42AM Yes, they are totally missing the boat. By the time they specifically target the EV market, lithium will have taken over.

Cree Ltd. SAM electric three-wheeler: not bad, not too expensive {Autoblog Green}

May 29th 2008 5:11PM Ridiculous? This thing costs less than a Vectrix and you can actually drive it in the rain without getting soaked. If it had more batteries in it maybe it could go up to 65mph and go a little farther. It's a pretty good concept if you look at it as an enclosed e-scooter commuter vehicle.

Bravo Motor Company shows Nach One 2.0 concept {Autoblog Green}

May 28th 2008 7:36PM Agreed, it's a nice concept. But it takes more than CGI to make a car.
