Former Chrysler VP joins Tesla to lead engineering effort {Autoblog Green}

Jul 8th 2008 4:37PM This is really good news. This way, there will be less stupid mistakes. With a Chrysler VP by their side, I imagine they'll be able to streamline their manufacturing and supplier issues. It seems like Tesla has yet to pin those two things down for their Roadster.

I hope this doesn't mean that Tesla plans to offer Chrysler-like vehicles. No offense to Mike Donoughe, who I think would be a great VP, but Chrysler doesn't exactly have a reputation for being a stellar brand.

Honda to reveal new sports car concept at British International Motor Show {Autoblog Green}

Jul 8th 2008 1:30PM For a moment I thought maybe this was a revealing of the next Acura NSX, but it's just a hybrid concept sort of thing. (Although it would be strange for the NSx to apepar on ABG)

Anyways, it's good to see some sort of evolving of the CRZ, but I think this concept will probably be a 2+2 like the CRZ, and not a two- seater.

CMiller, there already is a car that is a two seater that can move and gets good MPGs, it's the Honda Insight. Despite being the most advanced car you can possible get for the price, it was a flop. :( It has the lowest CO2 emissions of any car in the whole world. But it was a tiny two seater, so it didn't sell well. Maybe it can't "move" as fast as a sports car, but it was okay.

Is Tesla using Dodge Magnum body shells for White Star mules? {Autoblog Green}

Jul 7th 2008 1:17PM When I read this post yesterday on Tesla Motors Club, I thought this just had to be some sort of coincidence or misunderstanding....but I'm wrong! We don't have an idea of how Whitestar will look, but at least we have an idea of its size. This indicated what Elon and others have said, the car is going to be somewhat large, about the size of a 5 series.

Next-gen Prius to get solar panel to drive accessories {Autoblog Green}

Jul 7th 2008 1:09PM This is SOOO stupid. This would completely turn the Prius into just a gadget or fashion accessory. Solar panels mounted on cars have almost no benefit. It might save half an mpg or something like that, which means it is not cost effective at all.

Jul 7th 2008 1:04PM I just read this comic yesterday. I love Opus; I even have a book of his comics.

Jul 5th 2008 12:37PM Lithium batteries are more compact, so why do they use ultracaps? Are they cheaper or something?

Gordon Murray's Type-25 city car gets fleshed out {Autoblog Green}
