USA Today: plug-in vehicles may increase air pollution {Autoblog Green}
Feb 26th 2008 1:34PM If everyone had a plug-in hybrid, the definition of peak hours would change significantly.
Also, what about city drivers? Where do they plug in at night? I don't drive, but I know plenty of people who rarely park in the same spot twice.

Fuel Cell industry goes to US Congress {Autoblog Green}
May 9th 2007 4:35PM First, fuel cells are for more than just vehiceles - i.e. stationary and portable power.
Second, for vehicles, a FC power plant is at least 2-3 times more efficient than an ICE. Plus you can diversify your feedstock for hydrogen.
Also, note that the car companies are working on FCV's in TANDEM with their battery projects.

Feb 27th 2007 12:16PM Unfortunately this is a common problem with the environmental community. While most Republicans are willing to consider alternative energy sources, they immediately turn half the voting population off with these kinds of stunts.
The message of using alternatives is clearly lost within the first 30 seconds of this piece with the “Impeach Bush” sticker and the effigy.
People interested in developing alternatives have to learn to be political, not partisan.

Feb 12th 2007 11:41AM Moogy is a bit off. The cases for hydrogen are twofold. He's right, combusting hydrogen doesn't make sense. It relies on the same old inefficient ICE, plus it's not completely pollution free. That's why you need fuel cells. (2-3x efficiency)
Two, batteries have serious limitations. A hybrid fuel cell vehicle will give drives the best of both worlds.
