In three years of driving the EV1, I was questioned on average at LEAST once a week if not more as to where to obtain a car like the one I was driving--in parking lots, at stop signs or red lights, in front of my house, on the sidewalk after work; in short, everywhere I went. Let's just say 52 weeks x 3 years = 156 people. And that's not including people I gave rides to. Just round it off to 150 and multiply that by 800 lessees of EV1s = 120000 and then cut that in half and you're still going to get THOUSANDS of folks who were getting direct feedback from drivers of the car. Not questionnaires, not billboards, not tv commercials--DIRECT presence of the vehicle, right in front of them and us there to answer their questions and see how thrilled we were.
The one thing I could never tell them was 'here's where you go get one.'
