General Motors Heritage Center houses four decades of GM's electric drive vehicles {Autoblog Green}
Mar 16th 2007 1:12PM You say "there is a lot more to the story [of the EV1] than the narrative that was spun in a certain recent film," namely "Who Killed the Electric Car?" If you're calling that movie "spin," I invite you to consider GM's spin in response at http://fyi.gmblogs.com/2006/06/who_ignored_the_facts_about_th.html , and a rebuttal I assembled using info from many former "EV1 people," at http://www.altfuels.org/misc/onlygm.html .

Detroit Auto Show: AutoblogGreen Q&A with Dave Barthmuss on the Chevy Volt {Autoblog Green}
Jan 17th 2007 7:06PM "Flawlessly"? GM has been misrepresenting the demand for the EV1 since before they even stopped making them. If you want a longer list of "flawless" replies to criticism in the movie of GM's treatment of the EV1, Mr. Barthmuss wrote a blog posting at http://fyi.gmblogs.com/2006/06/who_ignored_the_facts_about_th.html that contains a fairly comprehensive summary. In fact, until a couple of days ago, the old EV1 website at www.gmev.com redirected to a static (no comments) version of that post (it now redirects to the Volt webpage). If you want to see what he left out, though, I posted a detailed response at http://www.altfuels.org/misc/onlygm.html (I have no ads or other revenue generation on the website, so I'm not just shilling to boost my page views!).
Fans of the late EV1 aren't engaged in mere "finger pointing" nor "hold[ing] grudges"; rather, we think that GM's continuing efforts to misrepresent their reasons for killing the EV1 cast grave doubt on their credibility in promising to build something like the Volt. You'll note that GM spokesmen go out of their way in discussing the Volt to say "the batteries aren't ready yet"--in light of their treatment of the EV1, it sure sounds like they're setting up for another "we tried, but..." escape clause.
