The April 2008 Chevy Volt update: details on just about every aspect of the production car {Autoblog Green}

Apr 11th 2008 8:27AM @ Wave54
What Bob Lutz says and does is never the same thing. The fecal matter dribbling out of his mouth is unbelieveable. The original target price of 30,000 only returned a 33% profit. Now that interest has wildly exceeded his expectations the profit margin is getting pushed up. He wants a 50% profit margin to replace the plush cash flows lost since SUVs fell out of favor. Notice, he is quoted as saying the "cost of development", NOT - THE COST OF PRODUCTION - ! He wants to recoup that cost quickly! NEVER believe GM! Lutz is drooling over Teslas stats about pre-selling every car they can make at a profit. Lutz is a maggot who would gleefully burn your grandchildrens future to futher his own ends.
What his greed means to you: NO CHEAP ELECTRIC CAR FOR YOU, EVER.

Boycott Gm! Run the theives out of business!!! Whenever a company doesn't deliver on it's promises, punish them unmercifully!
Just imagine Bob Lutz dirty and unwashed, dressed in rags, squatting on a pile of garbage by the side of the road begging for scraps. That would be justis. A more likley senario is him looking out from his forted mansion at you, or more problaly your children and saying: "What an ugly site, those people should be exterminated."

2009 Honda Accord diesel to hit 52 mpg! {Autoblog Green}

Mar 8th 2008 9:33PM Volvo, VW, Audi, BMW/Mercedes, SAAB, Subaru, Honda, all have teased us with glimpes of high mpg diesel wagons. None have ACTUALLY delivered. WHY????? With potential customers standing, waiting, with money in hand, why won't they sell us the very vehicles available everywhere else on the planet, EXCEPT here??? Over and over I read about CARB. @#$^@#%^* CARB! I don't live in California. Why should they dictate what I can buy in 45 OTHER states???? HHHHmmmmmm Maybe a class action? Even though I hate lawyers. Maybe this would be the time for 45 other states to sue the california air resources board for restraint of trade under the "Commerce Clause".
I don't like the idea. But I see nothing but excuses without end as to why we can't buy either A vehicle that gets great mileage. Or maybe one that doesn't use oil at all (except maybe for bearing grease).

Bush thinks ethanol is increasing price of corn {Autoblog Green}

Mar 7th 2008 10:59AM I believe the term is "Bush babble". We are not safer or better off than when he took office. His legacy may very well be that he is viewed as the worst President in US history. Today energy independence and national security are close to the same thing. We need EV's, diesels, hybrids, and any other cominations you can think of to replace a single source of power, oil. I'm thinking mainly motive power here so didn't include coal or nuke. But with a big influx of pure EV's you could.

VIDEO: President Bush flip flops on oil company tax breaks, unaware of $4/gallon gas predictions {Autoblog Green}

Mar 2nd 2008 9:34AM Curt: BULLSHIT. I wanted to say male bovine fecal matter, but the boldness of your lie is more than I will bear. EXXON pays nowhere near 42% of it's gross in taxes. That is a lie. I have several ideas where you got that figure and they all industry serving lies. Lies.Lies.Lies.Lies.Lies.Lies.Lies.Lies.Lies.Lies. to the power of ten lies.

Electric car that recharges its battery with only regenerative braking? {Autoblog Green}

Feb 5th 2008 9:20AM Overunity/perpetual motion doesn't exist, true. Sort of. We DO know of one. It's called the atomic bomb. Note: Due to some really BAD side effects, nobody except a complete wacko would propose everybody drive a nuclear powered vehicle. This statement does NOT include electric vehicles 'fueled' by electricity from a nuclear power plant.
On the other hand if a way is found to tap the inherent energy found within the atom without the radioactive side effects........It's worth excercising your brain cells to at least think about.
Electric vehicles are soooo tantilizingly close. With today's tech, I'd build a plug-in diesel/electric serial hybrid with onboard chargeing suppliments. (solar or wind) My first target? Agricultural equipment. Why
? 1. Speed is NOT a facter in their operation. 2. Weight isn't a problem. 3. They use a tremendous amout of fossel fuel to get the job done now.

"Hummers are greener than Prius" study makes it into an episode of ABC's Boston Legal {Autoblog Green}

Jan 30th 2008 8:45AM cowboy bob; While it might be temping to "shoot 'em all and let god sort 'em out", it's probaly not practical. When trying to choose between who is a liar, and who is a damn liar, just look at the money. Follow the $ trail and it usually leads you to the truth. In this country it usually ends with someone elses hand in YOUR pocket.
For the record; At this point in time I beleive diesel-electric hybrids hold the most promise in the near to mid-term. Add some solar collecting paint, and a removable small wind generator and you got your green transport. check this out- http://www.hydrogenappliances.com/windcart.html

Imagine a smaller charger, about the size of a 10 in house fan. It would easily plug in and out of a socket on the car roof. Like a boat light. As for the show. It's about lawyers.

Lawyer = professional liar

New car buyers amazingly wary of diesel {Autoblog Green}

Jan 29th 2008 10:17AM Consumers are not as dumb as carmakers think they are. 1. We don't want to pay more for a diesel engine because it is cheaper to make than a gas engine.
That's a huge secret manufactures have been hiding for YEARS. Yes, compression is higher. Yes, the blocks are heavier. Sure, they DO have more material in them. BUT,,,, not enough to overshadow the fact that a diesel engine needs no spark plugs, wires, distributor, timing chain, carberator. Yes some of these items are being outdated with modern technology. But in the same token they work for diesels as well. ie. computer controled fuel injection.
Just so that you know. Diesel is less expensive to refine than gasoline as well. So why do fuel companies charge more for diesel? Why do OEMs charge more for diesels???? BECAUSE THEY CAN! Where are our choices???? How is it, that the EPA became an arm of US car makers to keep out better made European models?
Ask yourself; what is the best selling European car? answer: The Ford Mondero Estate diesel. Ever heard of it? Why not? After all it's made by an AMERICAN company. Then research it. Then ask yourself why isn't this car, and others like it of course, available here in the good ol' USA?
Read carefully, emissions results can be misleading. The diesel Lupo is actually cleaner than a Prius.

AutoblogGreen Q&A with Firefly Energy co-founder Mil Ovan on new lead-acid battery tech: 3D2 {Autoblog Green}

Jan 26th 2008 10:07AM I understand the need to have a ready market for the product. Contracts with large corporations can accomplish this. I simply question the wisdom of ONLY delivering to selected clients. I believe Mil Ovan is wrong in thinking that the market for a better battery is too sparse to be profitable. As for the cost of a sales infrastructure, it would be neglible. Just offer the Oasis at their CAT dealerships and let us worry about the rest. Like Robert Weekly said, he's "ready to buy" if Mil Ovan is ready to sell. From EV enthusias, to RV'er , to the guy who just wants his trolling motor to take him to one one fish, We'd like to give the 3D/3D2 a shot. Why the hold-up? Afraid of too much business?-----not likely.

Oh and David R. your exactly right. Toyota simply can not build an electric Rav4. Thanks to the 'lawyers'. Panasonic can not offer the large battery pack required. Which is stupid when you realize that Cobysis gets royalties reguardless of the battery format. Stupid until you put together that cobysis is just an arm of chevron/texaco. Then it makes sense . . . in an evil robber baron-burn the world rather than make less $- sort of way.

After all. You wouldn't want the poor oil company to make less money, would you?

sarcasm intended

Firefly's Oasis Group 31 batteries getting some EV fans excited {Autoblog Green}

Jan 26th 2008 8:36AM Don't hold your breath on cheaper Li batteries. The best separator made today is made by .-.-.-.-.-.-"drumroll", Exxonmobile ! I'm talking about the polypropylene separator used between the sheets of lithium.
Now tell me again..... What is their incentive to give up their oil profits, ( close to 40 BILLION) close down and clean up thier filthy refinery sites?????? All in order to help make batteries 'cheaper'? Please..... They would rather see the world burn than give up their profits.
