Solar power heats up. Government freezes projects. {Autoblog Green}

Jun 30th 2008 10:20PM Hmm... we are asked to fund going into Iran and no one questions the president... Someone says lets do solar and like the EV-1 it shows signs of success and a "temporary" moratorium is called to 1st assure "perfection" from this potentially dangerous technology that could what?... cripple or destroy the lives of thousands of our sons and daughters and their children? (Opps got that one mixed up with the war...) Yep solar energy, got to nip that danger in the bud... in the meantime lets send your daughter to be maimed and raped.

Veteran journalist John McElroy calls for EV1 revival; too bad it's not that simple {Autoblog Green}

Jun 29th 2008 3:05PM If the EV1's contemporary brings over $50,000.00 and is quite usable today, I think it is perfectly legit to bring back the EV1 which was superior to the little electric suv. The minor changes like upgrading the batteries to use the nickel ones are insignificant. Having tried many electric cars personally (some practical) I can speak from experience, the EV1 was valid.

Ten Mitsubishi iMiEVs will roll around July G8 Summit in Japan {Autoblog Green}

Jun 7th 2008 8:07AM I wonder if I can at least order an iMeV soon. Its either that or the Aptera. (whichever I can get to Michigan first)

California air regulator linked to car and oil firms {Autoblog Green}

Apr 12th 2008 9:35AM Every gallon of oil imported from the Middle East funds people who: a.wish we would stay in the Middle East forever? b.would like to send us flowers. c. hope we continue to send them increasing amounts of our national budget?

UC Davis should be getting letters of disappointment as well as the governor as well as CARB. This is absolutely w/out doubt WRONG. The CARB vote was a mis-vote that needs to be taken again with those linked to oil and auto interests removed!

This is SO much like the slavery issue in Europe. 25% of the economy depended on the industry and the entire country was promised to fail if the paradigm shifted all at once to an unknown economy not based on slavery. Political interests held the government from acting while the country became more and more depenedent on slavery. The absolutely feared happend and don't you know the economy rebounded and became stronger with the complete elimination of slavery! If CARB supports electric vehicles we won't die, if fact it will be the opposite. It will a part of the flowering and prosperity of our country. As it stands under oil, coal and the auto industry we are dying (or coming back psychologically/ physically injured.)

CARB was wrong and it needs to admit it not next year, but NOW!!!!

Battery breakthroughs abound {Autoblog Green}

Apr 8th 2008 12:25PM Hmm... lithium batteries definitely have power... But with global supplies physically limited I'm thinking we'd be unwise to cite this as the only option.
(Maybe I misunderstood the article, because I don't know the specific batteries you were talking about.) The foam lead matrix should also be cited because it has far better performance than a standard lead plate battery (and very little government R&D dollars unlike lithium.)

Congress to the EPA: we're tired of waiting too {Green Daily}

Apr 4th 2008 3:57PM I followed the link, read the info and WROTE a letter to encourage quick action within the month. It matters that we write. Get involved now!

Trev the 100 mile two-seat electric car from Down Under {Engadget}

Feb 29th 2008 9:04AM Bravo to the group for producing the car. If they are not going to put it into production, before some major car corporation buys out the rights to the vehicle design and prevents it from EVER being built...why doesn't the school simply sell plans for people interested in building their own? Even make it public domain... or write a book about the experience with plans? There are thousands of home built electric vehicles in the US, this is definitely an upgrade. Please? BTW you'd be amazed at the progress open source designing can do to advance technology faster than corporations! (See Linux)

Want the iMiEV in the U.S.? Sign the petition {Autoblog Green}

Feb 21st 2008 7:27PM The article mentions it being a city car, which I understood to be not up to highway speeds. Is this correct? Once I know the iMiEV is capable of highway speeds and at least a 100 mile range I'll sign the petition. I like the Aptera best so far, but its not available in Michigan where the ICE gods reign (infernal combustion engine). I have laid my money down in the past for a high mileage car (top av mileage logged 78mpg on a highway trip in my Insight) and am for sure going to be buying a BEV to make use of my wind and solar production capacity.

TREV is a new two seat electric trike from down under {Autoblog Green}

Jan 26th 2008 3:17AM It has to be safer than a motorcycle. I'll take it as it is now. (still I wonder what it could do with an engineair motor and tank in it?)

Cool videos: air propelled train, personal street car {Autoblog Green}

Jan 21st 2008 11:43PM Sweet!!! I like the air train. We are talking about putting in a separate rail system to move people between Ann Arbor and Detroit, this looks great!
