Jul 7th 2008 9:06PM I sure hope that the domestics will catch on. Just switching the Ford Explorer from body-on-frame to unibody isn't going to cut it.

Jul 6th 2008 9:16PM No freaking way, for some reason when I was watching the video I just thought, "Volvo already did this, and they did a much better job."
I can't pin down any areas where it looks like the volvo, but I can't shake the feeling it was the inspiration. Whatever, Volvos look nicer than this.

Jul 2nd 2008 11:16AM Yeah, I'll bite. Looks like the Civic...a Civic redesign with the design language of the current Accord. Hit with an ugly stick.
American biofuel plants filing for bankruptcy protection {Autoblog Green}
Jul 1st 2008 11:27AM And there it is. Maybe we can learn from our mistakes, not make fuel from food. Use algae for biodiesel, waste cellulose for ethanol. Or hopefully LS9 gets going, and we can have 104 octane biofuel, which would be loads better than ethanol (or mixed with ethanol to give better emissions)

Jul 1st 2008 11:24AM I've never said this before...I would be embarrassed to be seen in that. Sad how looks can kill a great idea for some people.
Solar power heats up. Government freezes projects. {Autoblog Green}
Jul 1st 2008 11:21AM I'm all for solar, but this... is a kind of a good idea. Kind of like testing nano-structures for health problems (can cause cancer!), we need to study how massive solar farms will affect the environment.
I think a 2-year moratorium is a bit much, i don't think that 100 million acres of solar panels can be built in that amount of time. But after 2 years, we can make sure its safe for desert environments.
On the downside, say I'm hiking in the deserts of southern or eastern Oregon, I don't want solar panels everywhere i look. The desert can be a beautiful place, lets place these solar plants carefully.

Jul 1st 2008 11:12AM We can't have a carbon copy of the show here. It will just be different, like "The Office"....or many other British to American shows. Any show has the possibility of sucking. Why not just wait to see it and then start whining then?
Anyways, no new information here.
Is Nissan lying about GT-R horsepower? Pretty much. {Autoblog}
Jun 30th 2008 10:04PM Still missing the point here. Nissan sells a car that can beat a Z06, 911 turbo, and others for the same or less money. Yeah, the HP may be more than 480, but the point is it beats a Z06 at the same price and a 911 which costs more.
Still is ugly.
2009 Chevy Traverse priced from $28,990 {Autoblog}
Jun 28th 2008 1:57AM I think that having 270lb-ft of torque, 24mpg highway for a 2.5 ton, 7 passenger (and the back seats are comfortable to me, 5'10, 180lbs) is quite an accomplishment.
Honestly, I wish that we had diesels in the range of 2.5 liter 4-cylinders that had about the same torque and 170 hp. Yeah, 0-60 in 12 seconds, but that is what everyone in traffic does anyway.
