Are you having problems with iPhone 2.0? {Engadget Mobile}
Jul 11th 2008 3:08PM Add another vote to the "Works fine for me" pile.
I've purchased Monkey Ball, Remote, VoiceRecord, and MPG, and have tried them all out without trouble. I did have an issue where if I purchased apps via iTunes it wouldn't sync with the iPhone, even when I forced it. But when I tried downloading the same app from the iPhone, it said I had already purchased it and let me download and install it for free.
I've used my iPhone normally since the update yesterday afternoon: phone calls, SMS, tried out the new Contacts widget, camera, clock. Seems to be working fine. Seems more stable (or at least more responsive) that when I had it jailbreaked, actually.

Jul 9th 2008 2:08PM What? Scrap the car when you're done with it instead of sell it used? That doesn't make sense.
Use of the car is part of the lifetime emissions, but the manufacture and transportation of a new car is another. If you scrap your old (still driveable) car, this is (in theory) forcing someone to buy a new car instead of your used car. That increases the amount of fuel used to mine the raw materials, create steel and plastics, and form them into a new car, as well as the emissions from the mining operation, the smelter, and the factories where the parts are assembled and built.
In addition, your old car might just end up on a pile somewhere leaking oil and battery acid and leaching petroleum by-products into the soil. How is that helpful to the environment?
Now, if you KNEW your car would be immediately recycled and re-used in a new car, that's a bit better. But, even then, the recycling process is using fuel and emitting greenhouse gases to turn your scrap metal and plastic into useable materials.
It's not like the car just disappears when you "scrap" it. If it's still driveable, make some repairs on it to make sure it's still running well, and put it back on the market. My old 92 Accord is still running great, gets almost as good mileage as it did when it was new, and will (hopefully) keep running another 5 to 10 years. In the meantime, maybe I'll be able to upgrade it with something like this: http://www.autobloggreen.com/2008/05/07/who-else-thinks-the-poulsen-hybrid-is-the-sleeper-team-to-win-th/

8 years back. Close enough. AT&T and Cingular were different beasts back then.

Jun 10th 2008 2:38PM @Razor -- actually, if it's anything like the current iPhone data plan, it will include messaging. The current plan includes 200 SMS. (No MMS, still, but email works fine for me, and there's no limit).

Jun 9th 2008 4:11PM Me likee. This is at the top of my list for a future purchase, along with an (older) xB or an Element. I like the idea of electronic 4WD, I've been thinking about that for a while. It's a great idea, and doesn't entail a performance or MPG hit like mechanical 4WD does (at least, when it's not being used).
Alex, I think "Dad" was commenting on your use of very definite language for something that isn't definite. A better phrase might have been "... the Cube would probably have done much better." This way you're not asserting that it's a fact, and you don't have to worry about backing it up.
This isn't English class, but you ARE writing professionally. Accepting valid criticism is par for the course. :)

Jun 6th 2008 4:47PM Sooooooo... where do we shop for these? They don't have an online store, and if I click a link to a FAQ "Where can I buy HopOn products?" I get the FAQ page which doesn't have that Q!
Get your act together, HopOn! Don't tease me like that!

May 22nd 2008 8:51PM That's wierd. I got white mage again and again. I didn't WANT white mage, so I kept taking the test until I got something else.
I saw white mage, black mage, but I didn't see Thief as a job.
Who else thinks the Poulsen hybrid is the sleeper team to win the X Prize? {Autoblog Green}
May 7th 2008 4:18PM This is one of the greatest ideas I've seen for an actual, PRACTICAL conversion for existing cars. No messing around in the engine compartment, no transmission hacks. Just a sensor on the throttle body (probably) and two motors and a battery pack, and you're ready to go!
You don't have to give up any of your luxuries, and you save gas!
This is WAY more attractive to me than biofuels.

Apr 21st 2008 6:26PM I LOVE the idea of them having a "boost" button on the steering wheel! Just like in the arcade! :)
If they're able to perfect this tech in race cars, it would be nice to see it filter down to us regular joes. This, combined with partial-hybrid engine stop-start could save even more gas than an electric hybrid solution.
I wonder, if they found a way to make this virtually frictionless (ie magnetic bearings in a vacuum), this type of hybrid might have a much longer lifespan than a battery-based one.
