Jan 5th 2008 12:54PM with the new UAW contract it is now cheaper not to build the cars and lay off the workers than it was under the old work rules. under the old rules it cost almost as much NOT to build the cars as to build them so they kept the lines running and hope they sold the cars

Jan 2nd 2008 9:04PM when they optimize the compression ratio to take advantage of the 105 octane of E-85 some if not all of the reduction in MPG will go away. the compression ratio could be as high as 13:1 or more so we need more E-85 stations so this can happen

Jan 2nd 2008 5:21PM check and see how many cars only have one person in them in these traffic jams.people need to car pool as i did for 42 years when i was working. we always had 4 or more people in the car.

Jan 2nd 2008 2:16PM in europe they "stick" your diesel tank to see what color fuel you have and if it is the non taxed fuel they confiscate your car. they don't fool around with cheaters over there

Jan 2nd 2008 2:10PM with old timers like my self not going to the NASCAR races as much as we used to NASCAR needed to tap into the people who buy non big 3 cars to sell tickets. that is why toyota is there,NASCAR wanted them. i used to go to 12/15 races a year but now the cost is so much i can only go to daytona for speed weeks and 4 tickets for all the races there cost me $3000

Jan 2nd 2008 11:34AM when we start using any fuel that gets better MPG the state and the feds are going to raise the fuel road tax because they will see a drop in those taxes and the infrastructure needs to be repaired. get used to paying more to drive your vehicle as there is no way around it. diesel cost more because the govt put a higher tax on it when it allowed the trucks to carry more weight so they could fix the roads the heavy trucks ruin.
