Hyundai-Kia pass Honda to become world's 5th largest automaker {Autoblog}
Jul 4th 2008 4:50PM I spotted a French article on LeBlogAuto about this at http://www.leblogauto.com/2008/07/hyundaikia-motors-vraiment-le-5e-constructeur-automobile-mondial.html when we combine Renault and Nissan, it give other results
It could be interesting to see if Hyundai might acquire some other company in the years to come
Automakers say new CAFE standards will cost 82,000 jobs {Autoblog}
Jul 1st 2008 4:22PM I could said as a joke then Honda lobby and bribes to the bureaucrats for more higher CAFE standards, lol. My guess they wants to prove then they are more "holier" then the others. (Beware of "Smug alert")
to quote "TORR" they aren't in the truck business...yet minus the Ridgeline but once they'll ear the song of the sirens, they could change their minds. And then they have in their closets some plans for their upcoming and rumored V10.
And here the list who are officialy in the alliance besides the D3, VW is even a member http://www.autoalliance.org/

GM/Ford merger brought up in boardroom, immediately shot down {Autoblog}
Jun 25th 2008 5:16PM Or the other possibility, Toyota calls to Honda to propose a merger to counter-attack called "Toyonda" (the South Park episode "Smug Alert" showed the "Pious" dealership labelled as Toyonda, if Toyota and Honda meged, the folks of South Park would had been prophetic)
Sen. McCain proposes $300m prize for a better battery {Autoblog}
Jun 23rd 2008 3:27PM My guess then hemp might be less heavier material then steel and lighter as the carbon fiber, glassfiber, magnesium,etc.... and a hemp car will be less heavier and use less gas/electricity I think.

Jun 23rd 2008 12:00PM Unless the upcoming diesel engines offering set for the new ULSD standards (and compatible with biodiesel) enter the scene. For some who want a bigger car but still having efficiency, it could be a good compromise. The folks of Diesel Power magazine dream of "diesel muscle-cars" and "diesel sports cars" http://blogs.dieselpowermag.com/6224641/diesel-news/musclecars-of-the-future-diesel-powered/index.html http://www.dieselpowermag.com/news/0803dp_diesel_transformation/index.html
If it's not possible we might see more diesel/biodiesel swaps like that 1965 Impala showed on "Pimp my Ride" last year http://www.racedriven.com/2007/04/800hp-biodiesel-65-chevy-impala-on-pimp.html
Autoblog's Day Off: 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider {Autoblog}
Jun 20th 2008 4:12PM For a moment, I taught it was the Alfa-Romeo model who was driven by Dustin Hoffman in the movie The Graduate http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_1804-Alfa-Romeo-1600-Spider-Duetto-10503-1966.html (and also used in Wayne's World 2 http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_3084-Alfa-Romeo-1600-Spider-Duetto-1967.html )

Jun 20th 2008 7:06AM Laserbeams, there was once a rumor dated from 2005 about Saab and who was the most interested...Renault-Nissan!!!
http://www.autoblog.com/2005/02/24/rumor-mill-gm-wants-to-sell-saab-gm-denies-it/
But things had changed since (Ghosn eyeing Chrysler and there some plans to bring Infiniti in Europe)
PT Cruiser will survive through 2009, barely {Autoblog}
Jun 17th 2008 8:17PM as Matt said the Aztec won the award of the ugly car but seems then Honda wants to get the title with the Element LOL ;-)
Jrejre, it's a very interesting idea to have a similar concept based on the Nissan platform. If Chrysler step back and changed their mind to get a 2nd-gen PT Cruiser or a new retro concept-car based on some other cars like one similar to the 1949 Plymouth 2-door sedan "fastback" http://www.49plymouth.com/mainpages/model_gallerys/dlx_2dr_sedan.shtml or the 1950-55 Nash Rambler 2-door wagon/1958-63 Rambler American 2-door wagon http://www.chuckstoyland.com/nash/rambler/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/mr38/527043951/
I also taught of a modern incarnation of the 1955-56 1st-gen "Forward Look" but I don't think it might fit for a small car design.
