Apr 24th 2008 11:28AM A 15%-20% premium on diesel is easily washed away when you consider that the Jetta 2.5l gets about 29MPG highway and the 2.0T gets 30MPG highway. The TDI gets 50% better mileage.
Even with the diesel premium, the new TDI is still a savings winner.
