Jul 1st 2008 2:09AM I'm not sure that doing something annoying, and then apologizing, is a way to boost public perception. Seems like a wash, or a bit negative.

But I would agree that it's a good way to get free press.

Jun 27th 2008 2:44PM So basically all the large corporations can buy TLDs that match their company name... how annoying.

www.walmart (or just "walmart"), www.microsoft, www.foxnews, www.aol, www.ebay, www.espn, mail.yahoo, search.google...

This is progress... how?

Jun 23rd 2008 1:23AM The iDrive code? It's probably more complex that Windows Vista, so it may use 10 GB.

Jun 23rd 2008 1:21AM I doubt it's your average 3.5" desktop harddrive.

It's probably a 2.5" laptop harddrive. And perhaps it's "ruggedized" to withstand 150 deg F (65 deg C) when you're parked in the sun.

Jun 13th 2008 2:35AM Isn't there still the proxy battle going on -- with Carl Icahn buying shares and trying to replace the board?

Or is that now nullified by the google deal?

Jun 12th 2008 6:58PM From what I've seen, v3 will import v2's history (and bookmarks) when it is installed and run the first time.

But after that, it now saves history to "places.sqlite" (SQLite format?), instead of the old history.dat file.

So if you run v2 again, you'll see all of your v2 history/bookmarks, but none of your v3 surfing/changes.

Someone else can comment on extension compatibility.

I've gone back and forth between v2 and v3 with no serious problems. But v3 has been so good, I haven't run v2 for a long time.
