More debate about niche blogging... {The Jason Calacanis Weblog}

Feb 20th 2007 3:05PM I can see you not wanting to talk about AOL / Netscape et al, anymore.. however you do post about them quite a bit. So I can understand why people keep asking you about them - you still seem interested, if not involved.

Headed to the ski slopes in your Prius? Better check this out first! {Autoblog Green}

Jan 29th 2007 11:21AM Any sort of traction control system will work this way. The concept of the system is to kill engine power if the drive wheels are slipping. That certainly doesn't mean there's a problem with the vehicle in any way, and it's not unsafe for road use. Icy roads are dangerous, regardless of what sort of advances traction control trickery your car has.

Remember the Titan? Nissan half-ton debuting facelift in Chicago {Autoblog}

Jan 18th 2007 6:04PM I wouldn't mind seeing a little baby update on the Titan... it hasn't really changed since it came out. Hopefully they can do something about the massive a-pillar blind spots that I hate so much.

By the Numbers: December 2006 {Autoblog}

Jan 4th 2007 12:32PM Chewy is 100% right - image is huge. Toyota's image says they are reliable, and Chevy's image says they make crap. Whether or not that's true doesn't matter in the short term - its' the image and pereption.
If quality was the only thing that mattered, Hyundai would be huge, with their pricing advantage and solid quality these days.

Ward's Auto releases annual 10 Best Engines list {Autoblog}

Dec 7th 2006 3:17PM Re: Steve2 ( comment #20 )
Ford's 4.6L engine that's used in the Mustang GT isn't now, nor has it ever been OHV. It's a SOHC 2 valve/cylinder design, and has been that way. You're probably thinking of the archaic OHV 5.0 liter, that hasn't been in a factory Mustang since ~95ish. Way to stay with the times, eh?
I agree with the LS2 - that's an engine that definitely belongs here

Ghosn taking a break from merger manhunt {Autoblog}

Nov 17th 2006 8:48AM Nissan doesn't have any big product launches coming up ( aside from Inifinity ) - the 07 Sentra, Altima, and Maxima are already at Nissan dealers. We've had the Altima for a few weeks now, and it's the latest arrival. The Sentra has been on the ground about a month, and the Maxima for longer than that.

Of course, I've never thought that Nissan needed a merger, FWIW.

Ford loses $5.8 billion in Q3 {Autoblog}

Oct 23rd 2006 11:52AM Let's hope Doug is right here.... otherwise this report is supremely depressing... I really like Ford.

VIDEO: Honda Civic Type-R in Paris {Autoblog}

Oct 3rd 2006 7:59PM I like our current Civic - the sedan is very nice looking, the coupe is downright attractive, and the SI is no-BS sexy. And this is coming from a 100% muscle car lover.

Cheap oil means cheaper gas means fewer green cars? {Autoblog Green}

Sep 26th 2006 4:02PM I think the high prices of recent years have taught many of us that the future is uncertain. Even if gas drops way down to unthinkable levels, people will remember $3+ / gallon, and hopefully use their heads. I know I will.

Los Angeles housing market reaches the tipping point. {The Jason Calacanis Weblog}

Sep 18th 2006 4:14PM Jason,
1.5 million for a 2k sq ft house just makes my head hurt... I can't imagine someone actually wanting to live in a place that costs that much. The places where I want to buy a home in Maryland are ridiculous by my standards... 400k for a 3k sq foot home. I think that's absolutely absurd - I can buy a 3k sq foot home for 225k or so here in Texas, in a nice area.

Amazing how location changes everything so drastically.
