Should we be thinking about standardized everything for plug-in vehicles? {Autoblog Green}
Jun 16th 2008 11:32AM Here is a charger feature that I think should be made standard... timed charging.
That is, you get home at 6 pm, during peak demand in the summer. You should be able to plug in the charger, then it doesn't start charging until 10 pm or so. All of these times should be user-programmable, like a thermostat.
The risk is that you forget to charge it, or if you charge it at 6 pm you and every other EV user will bring the electric grid down.
Back to the fuel efficient future: airlines go turboprops {Autoblog Green}
Jun 6th 2008 4:01PM Does it make sense to look at REALLY BIG turboprop planes? Full-sized planes that hold 200 - 300 people? Do the advantages scale up with size?
Here are a few dumb reasons why hybrids are bad for us... sigh {Autoblog Green}
May 28th 2008 3:39PM The real danger is that hybrids don't generate enough of a fuel economy improvement to make a difference in a world with skyrocketing demand for oil. A couple of years of prices increases can completely erase your fuel cost savings. I think people need to go to electric cars (non-gasoline, non-diesel) ASAP.
Expect to see more mall security on the Segway {Autoblog Green}
May 14th 2008 4:58PM Much more bang for the buck with a $200 Dahon folding bike. Very small footprint, easy to ride inside a mall.

$200 oil "Super Spike" within 6 months? {Autoblog Green}

An SUV tank worth of ethanol uses enough corn to feed a human being for a year. That's nothing to be thankful for.
