I couldnt have said it better. Isn't it amazing, how many and how fast these hybrids and plug-ins Ford and GM are coming out with now. When a year or so ago they said they can't do it. It will take years and maybe by 2020 we can have one on the roads. LIARS!!!!!!!

1) GM only bought into Coskata & Mascoma NOT because they believe In that technology but, as a way to control (delay) the development.
2) Hybrid technology is still crummy. That’s why Toyota & Honda are selling them. Only to lose money, right! Toyota has sold over 1 Million.
3) GM is at the forefront of Plug-ins, Fuel cells & Ethanol. WHERE? What GM dealerships has these products for sale? Certainly NONE in N.Y.
4) GM is still wasting time to bring the Volt to market in hopes things go back to the way they were and they can throw a big V-8 under the hood and sell it for $40,000.

Anybody can say that by 2025 or whatever they WANT to eliminate gas. let's see what they say when/if they don't..........see what they do, not what they promise.

Jul 3rd 2008 9:50AM It is beyond normal understanding that GM is expending all this effort on the Volt when all they would have to do is just give the EV-1 a new (er) body. Does GM know that selling cars is what will make them money, not hype about them?

Jul 1st 2008 10:02AM Excellent concept. I don't however believe the automakers line that: Automakers expend a great deal of effort on integrating systems to ensure reliability. The recall numbers show otherwise. They would much rather have us buy new hybrid types than convert our old.
