Toyota gives Audubon $20m for five-year TogetherGreen plan {Autoblog Green}

Apr 15th 2008 10:34AM People who appreciate use our national and state parks and public lands are rallying to show Toyota that the National Audubon Society is NOT the partner they want to go to bed with. They and the Defenders of Wildlife have on their agenda closing all public lands to ORV use, and are currently involved in a legal battle to close Cape Hattaras. They give no consideration to whether or not there is actually a significant impact to the environment. They give no consideration to what closing this beach will do to the local economy. MOST people who use these resources appreciate them and do their best to leave the park or beach in better shape then they found it. This donation and partnership is under public attack, as it should be, and Toyota is hearing it from a siginficant customer base. Supporting an organization that is currently sueing to restrict use of your products is quite a faux pas.
