Rumormill: 350 hp Volvo C30 R in the works {Autoblog}
Jul 19th 2008 2:11PM Hmm...I seem to recall news that Ford will build a 350hp version of the Fusion (why, I have no idea), also equipped with AWD. IF this version of the C30 makes it, I would expect it to be equipped with Volvo's version of the Ecoboost engine and Volvo's own AWD. I seem to also recall Ford's Ecoboost engines are very efficient for what their output? This could actually work. Why, is beyond me, but it could theoretically, I guess, make Volvo relevant with mass buyers here in the states. They do well elsewhere.
McCain backs $5000 tax break for Volt, others {Autoblog}
Jul 18th 2008 3:17PM Correction:
A $5,000 tax break for those that can afford a $40,000 car that could've been a $30,000 car before option and accessories, had Lutz bought more time by offering both Chevy Cruze (plus requisite Pontiac and Saturn versions) and Chevy Beat (plus requisite Pontiac and Saturn versions) to the US and diverted some of the money needed for yet more "compact" CUVs to the project.
But that of course, would make too much sense.
2010 Chevrolet Camaro revealed! {Autoblog}
Jul 18th 2008 2:01PM Maybe it's just that pic, but something looks off to me. The front doesn't seem as aggressive?
Just looked it up and the front end for some reason doesn't look as good to me without the scoop just above the grill. It makes the production car look more upright, whereas the concept has a flatter look.
That said, I still dig it.
Lexus IS F to take on SPEED World Challenge GT {Autoblog}

2009 Subaru Impreza WRX gets upgraded to 265 hp {Autoblog}
Jul 18th 2008 9:48AM Unless you're looking for the AWD, you're better off with the Cobalt over the Impreza. Can't believe I just said that....
But it just makes too much sense. The Cobalt will deliver arguably better fuel economy and, if the 08 STI is anything to go by, better handling for both normal and aggressive driving (very saddened by my drive :( ). And considering the 08 WRX comes in at nearly $25K, I'd anticipate a price of about $29-30K for the rumored 09 GT spec, which sounds very similar to the Cobalt for a lot less. About the only thing you may lose out on by comparison is the interior, but keep that stupid rear wing off your options box and you can go on practically undetected in the Cobalt.
NOPI cancels all drag, drift and car show events for remainder of 2008 {Autoblog}
Jul 17th 2008 10:14AM Wow. If you've ever gone to one of these shows and you're a fan, this is pretty big news. Very sad to see it happen, but I'm sure they went round and round on the decision before making the announcement. Too bad as I was really looking forward to going this year after all the crap going on.
Rendered Speculation: Abarth Roadster {Autoblog}
Jul 17th 2008 3:40AM For the record, this is not a worldcarfans design. Shame on them for trying to take credit. This was a design called the Abarth SS Concept created by the same IED students that created that Maserati concept last year.

Spy Shots: Honda NSX interior caught at the 'Ring {Autoblog}
Jul 17th 2008 3:14AM @ ken_aisin,
The only people calling it the "NSX" are you and the media. Honda has never gone on record of actually calling this car "the NSX". "NSX successor", yes. But never "NSX".
Rendered Speculation: Abarth Roadster {Autoblog}
Jul 16th 2008 6:28PM If it looked like THAT, I would buy it (reminds me of a better looking Del Sol). But the 1.4L would have to be mounted up front. In a car this small, some practicality would be a priority, the smart roadster having little to none, really.

Jul 16th 2008 6:18PM Looks to be about an 8400 or so rev limiter, though I'm starting to wonder if it has a lower displacement than we originally thought. Wonder what the fuel cut off is.
