Scooters are subject to pollution control as well. The Vino125 has a sealed air box and a catalyst exhaust.

They "can" get 100mpg but only in a flat area realistically. I modified my CVT transmission on mine so it runs at a higher RPM, because I need to go up large hills in the mountains of pennsylvania. It now gets about 75-80 mpg, will go 60+ mph on a flat, and about 43 mph on a STEEP hill.

Also there are many people who have theirs over 20,000 Miles and they are still running strong. This is a very solid engine, and they aren't the 125s of 20 years ago, technology is advancing!

It is satisfying to fill up my 1.2 gallon tank with regular once a week! (less than 5$ a week)

Just how do you think up a HUMMER H2 scooter? {Autoblog Green}

Jan 31st 2008 12:49PM This is what would be considered the maxi-scooter category. It isn't even an impressively large engine. Suzuki has the burgman in a 400 or 650 which are more common than you would think, kind of a goldwing style. Speaking of the goldwing there is the silverwing by honda, another large displacement scooter. But impressively large are the 850-950 cc models being developed and produced....
My fav is the Aprilia Scarabeo 500 ie

Jan 14th 2008 10:07PM according to the auto channel it has a 26L fuel tank.
http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2007/09/10/061476.html

444 miles total range
-34 miles of all-electric
=410 miles of diesel range.

410 miles / 6.86847333 gallons = 59.6930323 MPG

Hell I'd buy the car without such a big expensive battery!
