Minnesota boy rides bike into Prius he didn't hear {Autoblog Green}

May 8th 2008 10:43AM but I WANT a quiet car!

Also, I learned in drivers ed that when you see a blind person with a cane, you are supposed to slow down and make sure you don't hit them! What happened to the driver being responsible? How about mandatory prison sentences for drivers who hit a blind person (hybrid or not)?

Too bad people are busy sipping their lattes and talking on their iPhones to pay attention!

Don't make my future EV noisy!

McCain calls for summer holiday from federal gas tax {Autoblog Green}

Apr 15th 2008 1:59PM And use what money to pay for roads and bridges? I think the people in Minnesota have learned just how important it is to build good infrastructure with those gas taxes. If anything, its time we raised the gas tax.

SAE Congress '08: Watch out, Mexico, the military's got the HY-DRA {Autoblog Green}

Uni-Select saves energy by installing new lightning system {Autoblog Green}

Apr 8th 2008 4:42PM Are you sure? I think a 'lightning' system might use a heck of a lot of energy. But it sure would be pretty cool! Altho I have no idea why you would want to create lightning inside and auto parts warehouse..

U.S. economy speeds up the used car market {Autoblog Green}

Mar 27th 2008 12:07PM HALF of a vehicle's environmental footprint is from the production of the vehicle itself.

This means that buying used cars IS actually green. While fewer people buying newer green cars does hurt the green car market, in general, buying less new things means less things having to be produced.

Zap counters hype machine story with yet more press releases {Autoblog Green}

Mar 26th 2008 2:58PM Zap needs to shut up and put out some vehicles or get out of the business. They've had a lot of great potential with good press and positive outlooks from many people, but now they have squandered it by producing nothing but hot air.

If they continue this vaporware charade, they will only hurt the EV industry. It may be better for them to give up and say 'We can't do it, but maybe somebody else can.'

Alfa Romeo launches microsite for Mi.To {Autoblog Green}

Mar 20th 2008 12:15PM Im sure it won't come to the US, just like all the other great European cars I'd like to buy. (Peugeot 206)

Zero Motorcycles to introduce street model, having trouble keeping up with high demand {Autoblog Green}

Mar 19th 2008 4:49PM If they can make a real motorcycle that goes highway speeds (70 mph), gets AT LEAST 50 miles per charge (when driven in the worst possible way, and will continue to get this range even after a few years of battery wear), and costs under $10k, I'm in.

Repsol fills old oil fields in the Mediterranian with CO2 {Autoblog Green}

Mar 18th 2008 12:35PM What a great idea!!! We can artificially create the Lake Nyos effect in an ocean!! I just hope I'm not at sea or near the coast when it happens.

Lane splitting in California - for or against? {Autoblog Green}

Mar 18th 2008 12:33PM From a legal perspective, I see no problem with lane splitting. When I am on my bicycle I ride in and out of traffic at will, without regards to the rules.

As a motorcycle rider, however, I would never utilize lane splitting. Its so incredibly dangerous that I am not willing to risk it. In heavy traffic situations, however, I do use my shorter length and higher maneuverability to my advantage without 'lane splitting'.
