Paris 2008: Pininfarina and Bolloré debut the B0 (B Zero) production electric car {Autoblog Green}
Oct 7th 2008 1:51PM Can someone post a source/link that verifies the plans on this car coming to the US?
How To: Build a car from spare parts and scraps {Autoblog Green}
Sep 25th 2008 2:31PM Ha ha... I had to laugh at this! My 4 year old son has asked me many times if we can make a car. When I ask him how he thinks we should do that, he says that we should go to the junk yard and get some parts, and bring them back to our house and put them together.
I just smiled and said "Thats not how it works - cars are built in factories, and its too hard to do at our house."
I guess this guy just proved me wrong. I'm glad my 4-year-old can't read, or he'd have me trying this.
Production Chevy Volt photos leak out! {Autoblog Green}
Sep 8th 2008 10:22PM Wow, that's ugly. I can't get over how little it looks like the concept volt, and how much it looks like a prius with chevy emblem on the front.
Crappy looking. just butt ugly. can't stand it (get the point?)
British Motor Show: Ford Fiesta ECOnetic, 63.5 mpg (US)! {Autoblog Green}
Jul 23rd 2008 11:53AM Lets start calling this blog "autoblogUK" or "autoblogEurope"
I'm honestly sick and tired of seeing all these posts for cars in the UK or Europe. Who the hell cares? What is the percentage of readers in the US vs UK/Europe? Start posting stuff that relates to your readers for crying out loud.
Chevy Volt's gas tank gets downsized, range drops 300 miles {Autoblog Green}
Jul 9th 2008 12:31PM The Volt is not a series hybrid. In a series hybrid, the source of the electric power to the motor could come directly from the the gas engine's generator.

The Volt is a REEV: Range Extended Electric Vehicle. The gas engine charges the battery, and the battery powers the electric motor. There's a difference.
London's Met Police test all-electric smart ed {Autoblog Green}
Jun 26th 2008 12:25PM Hear Hear! Where are the Electric Smarts in the US? When are car manufacturers going to get it that we want EVs in the US! Yesterday!
Gingrich presents three ways to lower gas prices {Autoblog Green}
Jun 25th 2008 1:10PM Ok, You may think the is an oxymoron, but I'm a conservative environmentalist. I recycle, and I'm chomping at the bit to buy an electric car.
Newt makes some excellent points. He mentions that there is an electricity surplus at night. What he says to do with it is produce hydrogen using electrolysis. What he leaves out is much simpler, which is charging a "regular" battery electric vehicles at night.
I also strongly support going after the oil that the US has access to. There's a huge oil field in the western part of North/South Dakota that we could go for, there's plenty in the oceans, there's the field in the Rockies that Newt mentioned. We have plenty of oil right here in the US. Lets get it!
Lets also get some electric cars to market! Why don't we take the ethanol subsidies away (scary since I live in a farm state - Iowa), and turn those into EV subsidies instead? We could get going on electric if we wanted. Lets do it!
By the way, the other thing that Iowa produces, besides corn and soy beans, is tons of wind energy. There's a huge wind farm in southern Wright county (Iowa) that is intermixed with the corn/bean farms. We make lots of wind energy here in Iowa
Production Volkswagen up! may go front wheel drive instead, optional ER-EV {Autoblog Green}
Jun 20th 2008 4:48PM So is this supposed to be coming to the US? So many articles here are for UK, or Europe only cars.
Trapped in a Ford Excursion! {Autoblog Green}
Jun 19th 2008 12:07PM I have 3 kids (my wife & I make 5), and an AWD Chevy Venture minivan. If I'm really careful, I can average 21.5 mpg. Its up to 80,000 miles, and I'm looking to get a Mazda5 microvan next. What really dissapoints me is that small wagons don't have 3rd row seats. The Mazda5 is the smallest, most fuel efficient vehicle I can find that has 3 rows of seats. A mini cooper microvan would totally rock!
BTW, my commuter is a Ford Focus, and I have a 4wd pickup that gets about 500 miles per year. :)
I'm worried about the price I'll get for a minivan. I can't imagine trying to sell a huge SUV right now.
Mitsubishi's electric car plans revealed {Autoblog Green}
Jun 17th 2008 5:08PM I have to echo that 'scratch off the list' sentiment. I have no desire to lease a vehicle. I will BUY a MiEV if they bring it to market in the US, but I will not lease. Leases suck. I'll turn my hope to Subaru with their R1e unless Mitsu sees the light.
