Popular Mechanics to debunk the "run your car on water" myth {Autoblog Green}
Jul 9th 2008 8:48PM gasoline burns pretty well by itself. Add a little ethanol for the more complete burn but hydrogen. It doesn't seem likely that it would help all that much. Maybe it would improve the burn of the gas a little and make for a cleaner tail pipe emission. But I think we already know that this on board hydrogen production concept is a loser.

Jul 9th 2008 8:42PM I presume the difference is that the water has been separated and so now you have a flamable mixture of hydrogen and oxygen instead of just water.

Suckers - PBS falls for debunked Prius/Hummer story {Autoblog Green}
Jul 9th 2008 12:48AM The Prius is an interesting car but it's complexity takes something away from it. Better to stick with the Corolla - half the price to start with and half the stuff that can break down - A Prius is going to end up being a money pit for somebody - especially when it comes time to replace that battery pack. All things considered I would expect the Corolla is a more environmentally friendly decision too. Saving a bit of gas isn't everything.
