The only way we could not tax domestic would be to put the tax on a barrel. This would cause alot of pain in other uses like plastic and fertilizer.
They will not be drowning in oil as we reduce consumption because of the emerging consumer class in China and India. Both countries have very little pollution controls so the greenhouse will go up.

Apr 29th 2008 12:47AM Evan is right cheap gas isn't coming back. The buyoff of legislators by the big 3 won't save them if they can't come up with better mpg. The real tragedy was they also added a part where states can't regulate greenhouse gas's since the supreme court said they could under current laws.

Apr 1st 2008 10:34PM We bought a Honda Element in March for 2 reasons. 1- Fit our needs, 2- Reliability, proven in 4 different models over twenty years. Saturn Vue came close second but Hybrid was unavailable and reliability was to big a question mark. After the way our 2002 Volkswagen was built and poor customer service I doubt I will ever be in their dealership again
