May 28th 2008 3:45PM Fortunately the cost of domains, bandwidth, and server space are dirt cheap and those who are already creating content can create their own independant site with almost no start-up cost. I've seen a bunch of small time sites with little helpful videos make a killing with their Adsense accounts and honestly their videos are to the point and functional, which also means they are short and low enough quality to download fast.

May 14th 2008 7:25PM Isn't Google already symantic and human powered? You'd be better off creating another Adsense and not bothering with search engines. Yahoo and MSN would love to use a good contextual program that isn't run by their competition.

Mar 9th 2008 3:19PM I like the comments on expenses. Don't spend any money unless it is a current need. I can't stand some of the spending people do based on the speculation that there business is going to grow extremely fast and be successful in a week. Also new policies and rules kill more time. Don't create new policies without removing and old one or being absolutely sure that it will lead to more money.

Feb 10th 2008 5:34PM I show people at work how to check work e-mail from home as well as work remotely from home at my job often. We push more and more work to online freelancers, which saves a ton of money. Very few companies are really taking advantage of the internet. People who grew up online are becoming major players in their companies and cutting a lot of costs. Before businesses would host their own e-mail and servers, now they are more likely to farm this out at a fraction of the price. The internet is an area every business could use to save money, unfortunately local techs and old managers speculate on the security problems and don't give the global marketplace a real shot.
