Father's Day Sweepstakes, Day 4: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and Dual Shock Controller {Autoblog}

Jun 19th 2008 6:28PM Not having played Prologue yet, can't say for sure, but looking at the car list, I'd say:
Subaru Impreza WRX STI '07

General Motors study shows superiority of EREVs over plug-in hybrids {Autoblog}

Feb 15th 2008 11:30AM Clarification: Less than 80 miles a day, if you can plug it in at work and home. Less than 40 miles a day if you can only plug it in at home.

General Motors study shows superiority of EREVs over plug-in hybrids {Autoblog}

Feb 15th 2008 11:28AM @ why not the LS2/LS7? "What is this new marketing term EREV? As much as I like the Volt, it's not an extended-range electric vehicle, it's not an electric vehicle at all. It's a plug-in hybrid, a vehicle that primarily gets it's energy from gas, but can be plugged in also."

They want to differentiate this vehicle, a plug-in series hybrid, from plug-in parallel hybrids, so they're using a new acronym.

And "primarily gets its energy from gas, but can be plugged in also" is debatable. For a parallel hybrid, this is true (unless you can accomplish most of your driving at a low speed and short range). It would be true for the Volt if you do the majority of your driving outside of the 40 mile electric range, or simply don't plug it in. But for those who plug it in, and drive less than 80 miles a day, it is primarily electric, and the gas engine is merely for extending the range. Hence the E-REV moniker.

Geneva '08 Preview: Subaru Legacy 2.0D & Outback 2.0D {Autoblog}

Feb 8th 2008 10:34AM It looks like the Outback and Legacy Wagon versions will get about 41mpg. See: http://www.autobloggreen.com/2008/01/22/subaru-launches-2-0l-diesel-outback-legacy-wagon-in-the-uk-with/

Who knows what EPA numbers would be, if/when it comes to the U.S. Either way, it's significantly higher than the existing gas engine models.

Pontiac cuts $1,500 off base price of Vibe, starts under $16k {Autoblog}

Dec 5th 2007 5:06PM If they had released this model a year earlier, I likely would have gotten one.

I was interested in the Vibe, but it was hard finding one with ABS, 4-wheel discs, side airbags, and StabiliTrak. These options were pretty rare (especially all on the same vehicle), but all standard for the 2009s. Plus the AWD and GT options are back. And the base stereo finally looks at least up to par with other GM models. Unfortunately, rear visibility looks a bit worse.

Subaru Impreza Outback will rock the two-tone {Autoblog}

Aug 16th 2007 1:37PM First, the Impreza Outback Sport has been two-tone like this for years now. The only difference now is they're using the same template on the new 08 Impreza design.

Also, this pic is showing probably the worst two-tone color combo available on the OBS. The Silver/Silver and Black/Dark gray color schemes look a lot better, from the photos seen so far. Even Blue/Silver is a little better than the Gold/Silver.

Here's a good shot of the Black/Dark Gray OBS:

2008 Subaru Impreza starts at $16,995, WRX at $24,350 {Autoblog}

Jul 17th 2007 3:01PM For those who didn't know, the "VDC" in these charts is Subaru's stability control system, standard on all but the entry level trim.

Hope they release a full feature/spec list soon.
