May 9th 2008 5:36PM Wow, a descent electric car from the Netherlands! (that's where I come from) :-P
Speed-control radars blown up in France {Autoblog Green}
May 5th 2008 5:50PM These boxes, or Gatsometers as they are called here, are very common in the Netherlands. There's a road nearby where I live where you can find five gatsometers on a 6 mile stretch of road (on google maps: http://tinyurl.com/5by5o2).
They do seem to be a very effective way to make drivers slow down to at least the speed limit.
Instructable of the day: build a bike fairing {Autoblog Green}
Jan 16th 2008 9:18AM As a former recumbent-racer for the largest recumbent producer out there I have to say that these kinds of fairings are a little sad. Recumbents already have an image problem (in Europe at least) and this really doesn't help.
Racing teams, factory rep's and many others involved in this business have been working really hard to get the recumbent recognized as a serious way of transportation. On of the issues we had to deal with was people looking at recumbents as something for bearded men wearing socks in their sandals. And it's not. Or at least shouldn't have to be.
Besides, have you ever heard the sound most home made fairings produce? Will drive you mad.
Akoo to use iPhone to control in-store on-demand displays {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jul 25th 2007 1:34PM Seems with so many posts about the iPhone like TUAW is slowly turning into the Unofficial iPhone Weblog ;-)
Walkthrough: iTunes 7's big new features {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 12th 2006 4:27PM Has anyone noticed all icons are slowly turning blue? I used to have some color variation in my dock, but now all my most used apps (Safari, Vienna, Mail, iTunes, Airfoil etc.) have the same tint. It suddenly looks like I am color coordinating my dock, wich I am not, off course!
Sony under fire for "racist" advertising {Engadget}
Jul 6th 2006 9:38AM I live in Holland and I work in advertising & marketing as a designer/marketeer/innovator (sort of) and the first time I saw the Sony ad here, racism wasn't what a was seeing, but just a pretty picture. The white girl's fashion styling quite is awsome (for the purpose) and the created image here is clear. The black psp is pretty nice, but the white one wants to be liked even better. Sony choose a rather daring way of showing this. But why not? Because there are people out there who think this is about racism? Go away! Perhaps those people are overreacting about this subject anytime something gets close to anything with imagery two different colors. "The yellow M&M is shinier than the brown one! M&M's is telling us yellow people are superior to black people! Racism, racism!!", something like that.
Bottom line, just f***ing relax. Enjoy the picture and stop being so uptight.

Mar 31st 2006 4:40PM From my most untrustworthy source within the Cupertino HQ I have heard the following: the guy in the back is holding the real secret Apple products right in his hands. The brand new top secret iGamer with new invisible iOrb gesture controller. It will be a next next generation console each sporting 256 stacked 68040 processors (with fpu) of some lost stock recently found in an old storage facility. Games as iBejeweledX iGamer Edition Deluxe 3D and iPacmanX Pro 0.0.1a will most certainly be released with the iGamer console.
(sorry for the lousy translation of my Pakistani sources information)
