Jul 4th 2008 8:17PM How many Mustangs does this make? Who can keep track of all this, and who cares? Just make one with 500hp, one with 300 hp, one with a sixbanger, and skip all this stuff.

Feb 19th 2008 7:53AM Oh, I read it all right. What part of "must pass all parts of IHRA regulations" did you miss? Roll bars, fuel shut-off valves, four or five point safety harness, approved helmet, onboard fire extinguisher, etc. ect. Do you actually believe a couple of 17 or so year olds are in a position to do this? I don't like to see these things either, but I DO understand how this happens, and THAT was my point, not an endorsement of street racing. But, come on, anybody who has had a car before they were thirty has probably done this. Sometimes sh*t happens. My problem is with people who offer solutions and pronounce others stupid for not doing things when they don't know what they are talking about either. Add to that, your post lists one track, not what is available to the rest of the nation. To automatically presume that this is available to every kid in the country is ludicrous. Here where I live in NY there is no place to "rent" without going to the bank for a second mortgage. I would bet that this is the case more often than not.

Feb 18th 2008 2:03PM While renting a track sounds like a good solution, has anyone ever tried it? I have, and you don't just run into an office and plunk down a fifty for the nite. There are permits to be had, a safety vehicle for the participants, ambulance and medical personnel on site for coverage, firetrucks, and employees for security and crowd control. Add to that issues of alcohol posession on premises and liability insurance. To even begin to "rent a track", you better have a lawyer for a contract, and about $50,000 for expenses. And that's for one event, and at a hole-in the wall track AT THAT. Now you know the "Rest of the story", so get off those high and mighty horses and get the facts before your lips flap.

Can't afford a Nissan GT-R? Lease it! {Autoblog}

Feb 18th 2008 11:01AM "Can't afford it? Rent it!" It's the American way to 'have' something you should'nt. Didn't a whole bunch of people just loose their houses this way? So, let's see now,,, after I pay the minimum on my fourteen credit cards, re-finance my second mortgage, and count in my comming "economic stimules package", I have $46.20 a month left over! Hell yes, I can get one of these!!
