Ford still haunted by past Navistar diesel engine problems {Autoblog Green}

Jul 11th 2008 9:07AM I agree with what Hugo said.

Since his engine has never had problems, what are his damages here? The ONLY thing that I can come up with is lower resale value and I bet the cost of diesel has had a bigger effect on that than motor type/age/size ever will.

Seems like Mr. Corder is just wasting the court's time and our money with just another "something for nothing" lawsuit.

Navistar sees economy and diesel prices strangling pickup sales {Autoblog Green}

Maybe this drop in big diesel engined trucks will be Ford's way out of their love/hate relationship with Navistar. After all of their legal battles, you can bet that Ford will be dumping Navistar in 2012 anyway.

Navistar better be looking for new contract opportunities...and let the downsizing begin.

Speeding tickets get worse with fuel surcharge {Autoblog Green}

Jun 20th 2008 8:17AM "Speeding tickets are just a scam."

Stevefazek: How else do you propose to keep drivers from grossly exceeding the speed limit and endangering other drivers?

Speeding tickets get worse with fuel surcharge {Autoblog Green}

Jun 19th 2008 5:52PM Maybe in GA the actual fines are set at the state level but the local governments are allowed to add "surcharges"? Either way, I'm all for this as it puts the burden of higher gas prices on those that are pulled over and not across the local population as higher taxes. A self inflicted tax, if you will.

A two seat unicycle? {Autoblog Green}

Jun 17th 2008 4:48PM This may be the most un-green post that I've seen here. It looks like they have taken a very green method of travel and made it less efficient.

Way to go! {sarcasm}

Chrysler prices new Aspen/Durango two-mode hybrids, starting at $45,340 {Autoblog Green}

Jun 17th 2008 4:37PM Toyota Highlander Hybrid's start at $34,200 (MSRP) and are rated at 27city/25hwy.

Saturn drops the Green Line moniker {Autoblog Green}

Jun 12th 2008 8:56AM Maybe it's all the time I spent on the Boston subway but I found the Red Line/Green Line moniker easy to understand. I guess it would get harder if you have BAS and two-mode variants in the same model (VUE). Maybe they realized that simple start-stop technology doesn't quite make a hybrid but, obviously, two-mode with it's EV capabilities does.

BAS and cylinder deactivation would be standard equipment across the board if they really wanted to get serious...

Does this mean that the Red Line option will get a new name too? :)

Barack on a bike {Autoblog Green}

Jun 11th 2008 5:21PM I'm sure he, like all the rest of us, is not entirely emissions-free. :)

Vibering concept warns of impending vehicles {Autoblog Green}

Jun 5th 2008 9:21PM This is a far more rational approach than adding noisemakers to every EV/Hybrid/Quiet car on the road. I've always maintained that there are fewer people that truly need this type of warning than there are EV/Hybrids on the road (even more so as the next few years pass and production/sales explode). Noisemakers will be a punishment to all in the form of more noise pollution.
