Opening Night Jitters at Singapore GP [SPOILER ALERT] {Autoblog}

Sep 29th 2008 11:38AM Do you really need to use 'Spoiler Alert' on each F1 posting?

I think anyone who cares - and hasn't watched the race yet - is probably avoiding the internet entirely by this point...

Netflix inks deals with ABC / CBS, current TV shows streaming soon {Engadget HD}

Sep 23rd 2008 9:07AM I really don't get the excitement over these streaming services. The episodes are chock full of commercials you can't FF through so what's the point?

Spy Shots: 2010 Buick LaCrosse caught with little camo plus interior {Autoblog}

Sep 19th 2008 12:56PM I like everything except the gauges.

For some reason, both Ford and GM have a history of putting in gauges that are essentially useless. They should at least take a page from the Germans or Honda, Toyota, et al. in that regard.

For once PLEASE give us a gauge that has more than 20-40-60-80 in bold large numbers.

Paris Preview: Subaru debuts boxer diesel Forester and Impreza {Autoblog}

Sep 5th 2008 11:29AM They're probably too scared to bring it over here, like everyone else...

It's a shame how GM's diesel debacle has had such far reaching impact on the US market.

Idiots.

Penske Racing transporter goes up in flames en route to Infineon {Autoblog}

Aug 21st 2008 11:47AM Strange. They used to put fire suppression systems on most transporters. Guess they stopped doing that?

Bombardier signs $485 million dollar contracts for hybrid locomotives {Autoblog Green}

Aug 20th 2008 11:36AM As Eric pointed out, diesel-electric locomotives have been around since 1928.

The headline is misleading, since they never say it's a HYBRID in the way 'hybrid' is used today (meaning using batteries as storage).

Instead their press release only says it's a DUAL MODE train, capable of using on-board diesel to generate electric power or use overhead electric lines for power. They claim that is a 'first' for North America.

Ask Engadget HD: What's the best long-range OTA antenna? {Engadget HD}

Jul 16th 2008 1:44PM I'm about 40 miles out and have been very happy with the Wineguard GS2200 (amplified):
http://www.solidsignal.com/prod_display.asp?PROD=ANWGS2200

Bought it from SolidSignal too.

And forget antennaweb, it's owned by the cable companies and not very good. Use TVFool.com instead, much more accurate info and includes directional info.

Job and brand cuts from GM on the horizon {Autoblog}

Jul 7th 2008 9:16AM I was wondering the exact same thing. Everytime this discussion happened before, it was said that the dealer franchise agreement prevented wholesale selloffs of GMC, etc. (Evidently the Olds shutdown cost them a bundle).

I don't see what's different this time around, other than if they do go CH11, it may allow them an way out of the franchise agreements.

Job and brand cuts from GM on the horizon {Autoblog}

Jul 7th 2008 9:13AM Why don't you read the article before complaining about people doing research...

It says that most analysts indicate Saturn hasn't made money in the 20 years of it's existence.

Now it's (quasi) official: Chevy Beat to U.S. {Autoblog}

Jul 3rd 2008 6:16PM I didn't even know about the WSJ article. Try Bloomberg, SeekingAlpha or any of the investment centered news sites for chatter on the Merrill report:
"Bankruptcy is not impossible if the market continues to deteriorate.''

They are burning cash at a horrible rate and will likely have to draw on available credit lines in 2009. They have a serious problem.
