British Motor Show: Ford Fiesta ECOnetic, 63.5 mpg (US)! {Autoblog Green}
Jul 23rd 2008 9:56AM That is great to see some American car makers pushing the envelope. Now, hopefully we can get that car here in the US as soon as possible. They would sell like crazy right now if they were available. 62 mpg for god sake. Most mopeds don't even get that!!!
Is Ford back?
CE-Oh no he didn't! Part LVII: Howard Stringer says the Wii is not 'a competitor' {Engadget}
Jul 15th 2008 10:13AM I can see his point a little. Microsoft and Sony are slowly trying to become more than console games. They are trying to reshape gaming in to a media distribution service, much like Cable or Satellite TV. But, I think Sony would be kidding itself if it didn't acknowledge that Nintendo's strategy may be the better one. It is cheaper, and has just as much potential to capture the same size audience and capital. Which it has proven to do. Nintendo is building a huge nest egg with the Wii. They are making money hand over foot. I would imagine they will be in a position to use these profits to capture an even larger audience with their next system. To call the non-competitors is just ignorant, or actually, egotistical.
At Witz' End - Gas Prices: Alternatives and Oil Supply {Autoblog Green}
Jul 14th 2008 9:23AM The main problem with hydro is that it stops the ability for migratory fish to make their year trips up stream to spawn. If you take away this major source in the food chain, it will have huge repercussions throughout the food chain. Not to mention all the other species that are affected my the limited sediment transport that are imposed by dams.

ITM Power shows off in-home hydrogen fueling station {Engadget}
Jul 9th 2008 5:36PM Hydrogen is just another form of a battery. Instead of storing electric energy in a battery, you are storing hydrogen in a tank. The benefits of hydrogen storage in a tank is that it cheaper and long lasting. Batteries wear out, corrode, fail, and have to be recycled. Hydrogen does not. The trick is to set up a solar/hydrogen system, where the solar panels supply the electricity to run the electrolysis required to break hydrogen away from oxygen. There are already study homes doing this, totally living off-the-grid. It works, but is very expensive. It is nice to see companies like this bringing the costs down. Solar/hydrogen systems are very practical as long as prices can come down. Uncompressed hydrogen can take up a large foot print too, but hopefully this can also be dealt with eventually.

T. Boone Pickens unveils "The Plan" - big on wind power and natural gas {Autoblog Green}
Jul 8th 2008 1:49PM I couldn't agree more. While I am concerned about him blatantly ignoring electric vehicles, I am still happy to see one of the big wig oil tycoons stating what the "tree huggers" have been screaming for the past ten years. We have to stop sending our wealth oversees to these other countries. We need to spend it on home grown energies like solar, electric, coal, and natural gas. We do not need the middle easts oil. We just need to find better ways to use and manage our own energies in cleaner ways. I am so excited to see our enire nation finally starting to take this topic seriously. I just hope OPEC doesn't suddently cut gas prices back down to $2/gal and make everyone forget about our real problem - foreign dependency / wealth outsourcing.
Honda VFR conversion to electric power now complete {Autoblog Green}
Jul 8th 2008 9:33AM For me, it is not about the price, it is about where my money is going. I absolutely hate the idea of my gas money supporting foreign governments that I do not trust. My ultimate goal is to have a solar panels on my garage roof to allow for net-metering to pay for all my weekday transportation needs. Pay a little more today, and it can set you up for an energy infrastructure for many years to come that will end up being a lot cheaper in the long run = set energy price, no oil changes, longer lasting engines, fewer moving parts, infinite energy = sun.

Jul 7th 2008 8:50PM awesome awesome awesome!!! don't mind anyone that may hate on you. This is a great feat you have done and should be commended 1000 times for it. I wish I had someone willing to partner up and do a motorcycle conversion with me. I'm pretty sure I could do it, but having a build partner would help a lot. Instead, I am currently looking at the EVC Volta and Electric Motorsport GPR-S. Both look like some amazing machines, much like yours. Keep up good work!
