Feb 12th 2008 6:06PM I suspect GM realizes that they have a fiduciary responsibility, not only to shareholders now, but also in the future. Within the Volt program lies the development of the tech that GM will incorporate into a good portion of it's future lineup. So, this "subsidy" could easily viewed as necessary r&d investment. I read an interesting article on this topic recently....
