Jun 23rd 2008 12:53PM Is the urea infrastructure exists in the US or do MB expect owners to piss into AdBlue tank? :) Also, how much they are going to charge for urea?

Jun 18th 2008 4:57PM I am not sure if Japanese Fair Trade Commission approved the deal but Fuji announced sale of shares to TMC in April 2008. According to them, "Following this transfer, TMC would own 16.5% of FHI issued shares."
http://www.fhi.co.jp/english/news/press/2008/08_04_10e-1.html
So while this is hardly controlling stake, I doubt that Fuji's decision could be made without full consent from TMC side. To speculate, I think that the following variants are possible:
1. TMC/Panasonic got no spare capacity even for small-scale project, such as R1e.
2. They (Fuji/TMC) want to try other sources for TMC without compromising TMC/Panasonic relationship.
3. This is a "ping the competition" game - to see what is really going on with EV batteries market.
Overall, this is a very interesting development.

Jun 18th 2008 2:46PM But isn't Toyota own 16.5% of Fuji Heavy Industries anyway?
Hyundai Elantra Hybrid set for 2009 in Korea with no help from gov't {Autoblog Green}
Jun 18th 2008 3:27AM I'd love to buy LPG hybrid! ATM, LPG is sold here for 53p (roughly $1) per litre, compared to 120p/litre (~$2.40) for petrol.
Sigh. Hybrid lies continue to spread {Autoblog Green}
Jun 14th 2008 2:26PM I had my first Prius as a leased vehicle and when lease expired, I just went and bought my own one. The reason is not because I want to look "green" (I hate Greenpeace and not really convinced about GW theory. I don't care much about my Prius being a "statement" or "show-off" vehicle. The major reason why I bought it was purely based on math - the economy is great, the road tax (I am in the UK) is very low and this is one of very few (if any) economical automatic cars in this segment. The level of standard equipment is very high compared to similar-sized cars in this price segment (I've got TSpirit model). A perfect combination for me.
And as to the whole Conservatives vs Liberal thing - I am Tory supporter. :)
British fuel demand down 20% due to high prices {Autoblog Green}
Jun 13th 2008 3:30AM The public transport in the UK is not as well developed as you think. To reiterate your statement, "Here in the UK unless you live in a major city like London or Manchester, mass transit is of limited use". I live in mid-size city (still called "a town" despite having 250K+ population) and bus isn't quite an option for me.
Concerned about CO2? In the UK, just buy a diesel {Autoblog Green}
Jun 12th 2008 9:57AM I never got less than 50mpg on my Prius. Typically it is 51 mpg during winter and 55 mpg in summer. And I've got quite heavy right foot, if you know what I mean. However, the UK press is now full of articles on how bad hybrids are (for example, Autoexpress claimed they only got 41mpg off it).
VW brings CNG-powered Caddy EcoFuel to the UK {Autoblog Green}
Jun 10th 2008 12:01PM And where exactly those CNG fuelling stations are located in the UK? There are plenty of LPG ones, but I never heard of a single CNG station.
Toyota considering April 2009 intro for next-gen Prius {Autoblog Green}
Jun 5th 2008 4:52PM From that Korean article:
"The third-generation Prius comes with a bigger engine, up to 1.8 liters from the existing 1.5, and enhanced fuel efficiency of 40 km per liter."
Is this correct? This is translated to 2.5l\100km, 94mpg (US) or ~113mpg (UK). If yes, then does anyone knows when this thing is coming to Europe?

As to Zhiguli - this is internal (to Russia) brand of Lada, normally used for cars based on FIAT 124 design. Some of these cars are still in production as of today under Lada Classic brand.
