If they refunded money to all early adopters, then, using your logic, they would have to raise the price again.

Well, you pay $0.99 for the song and $0.99 to make it a ring tone. Many people pay more than $2 to buy ring tones...

I just did about a month of comparison shopping on laptops and desktops, and, for equivalent machines, Apples are NOT twice as expensive. They are always competitive and, many times, less expensive. When you factor in the quality of included software, the lack of the pre-installed "crapware", and the lack of viruses, it is no contest.

The article Mike posted states:

So she did not know, for sure, where her phone was and left the country without taking any precautions. I would have notified Cingular immediately. At the least, I would have called my own phone to see if I could hear it ringing. If not, I would assume it to be lost or stolen. Either way, I would call the carrier.
However, Cingular should never have allowed a bill that was, according to the lady, usually $50 per month to balloon to over $26,000. That is just silly.
