Rendered Speculation: Honda to intro A-segment car, challenge, iQ, up!, smart

The smallest Honda we can currently get here in North America is the B-segment Fit. Back in Japan however, Honda has always offered smaller A-segment and the even smaller 660cc Kei-class cars. These have not been available outside of Japan but that could soon change. Honda will apparently be introducing an A-segment model to challenge the Toyota iQ, Volkswagen up! and Hyundai i10. There's still no word on whether the new mini will make it to the US. We'll probably have to wait and see whether the iQ and up! come here and if they sell well.
Honda will try to keep the price of its new small car down and less subject to volatility by sticking to conventional products rather than some more advanced materials. It's possible the new car will even get equipped with Honda's IMA hybrid system. We may see the new car in concept form at the Tokyo Motor Show this fall.

I know this is simply "Rendered Speculation" but wouldn't trying to put 4 doors on an A-car be a bit of a trick? My guess on the scale of the rear door we see here is that it can't be more than about 20" front-to-back.

screw the iQ and theUP! HONDA wake up and take the lead for once. Bring this car to the USofA ASAP! Yes, hybrid cars tanked in sales more than any other car category in Nov/Dec but really American's will buy this. Edgy, younger future Accord buyers who love options. Think of this as the future profit maker!

Another possible hybrid? It isn't really to have gas money for consumers--it's more of a pissing contest to see who can make the most fuel-efficient car.
If you already have a fuel efficient car, making it a hybrid doesn't make sense. If you already pay only $500 per year in gas, would making it a $300 gas bill really help you save a lot of money? Forego Starbucks once a week, and it'll pay for the gas.

I doubt, seriously, that it would be a 4 door.

The Smart has been selling reasonably well in the US, but for any of the Smart competitors to make headway, they would need to offer some advantage over the Smart. The Toyota IQ offers 4 seats (well, more like 3.5 seats), and the VW uP may offer better fuel economy. It'll be interesting to see how the Honda offer stacks up in comparison.

Thanks autobloggreen, for featuring this chop rendering. By now many of you would know the original car is Pininfarina B0. I gave the B0 the Honda City grille and head lights, along with the Honda Jazz/Fit bumper and wheels, and the number plate from "FIT". I did the rear rendering too, would be glad if you guys could check them out and give some comments at http://www.flickr.com/photos/theophiluschin .
