Glendale, CA and Clean Energy to build new CNG filling station
The city of Glendale, CA operates a fleet of compressed natural gas-fueled vehicles and now those vehicles will have access to a new fueling station. Clean Energy Fuels will be building a new CNG station that will also be accessible to the public (anyone wish they had a CNG Camry now?). Glendale operates transit buses, shuttle buses, garbage trucks and other municipal vehicles on compressed natural gas. Clean Energy has a 10 year contract to operate the station, which will be located near the Bob Hope Airport. It'll get busier, too. The Bob Hope Airport was formerly known as the Burbank/Glendale/Pasadena Airport and is physically located in the City of Burbank (though admittedly is still administered by all three cities and you'll see police from all three cities' forces there). I'm a bit sensitive about this as Burbank's my home town. You know Burbank: home to the HQ of the Walt Disney Company, Warner Brothers, and NBC's west coast facility where The Tonight Show and Ellen are filmed (amongst other shows). Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In was brought to you from "beautiful Downtown Burbank".
So stuff it, Glendale!

The original story is incorrect.
I attended the City Council meeting during which this project was approved and the new station will in fact be built near the Glendale Metrolink Station, which is very much in Glendale and nowhere near Bob Hope Airport.
Burbank already has a Clean Energy CNG station near Victory and Burbank Boulevard.

Great story. This biggest obstacle for alternative energy is infrastructure.
