EVCast: The Crap about Zap!
EVCast has gotten into the dirt with Zap!, everyone's favorite EV whipping boy. The electric-car podcast hosts started off researching the show with the idea that there's a lot of crap out there that pertains to this particular company and wanted to sort the accusations from the reality.
EVCast started broadcasting in May and this particular show has been a long time in the making. EVCast's Bo Bennett spent some time getting to know Gary Starr, Zap!'s founder and director, and then invited him on for an interview. There's a good sixteen minutes or so where the hosts explain their unbiased stance on this topic, and then Bo identifies three key crap (about Zap!) throwers: Forbes, WIRED magazine, and an analyst for IHS Global insight. We hear from a Zap owner and then Starr (if you just want to hear from Starr, skip to minute 40, but you'll be missing out on a lot of context).
Trust me, if you want to delve into the nitty-gritty of the Zap!, well, crap, this is the place to get it. It doesn't answer all of the questions about this company, but it does move the conversation forward. Recommended. You can listen to the 80-minute podcast here.
