Market for heavy duty hybrids drives Eaton expansion

With the cost of diesel still sky high, there is a lot of interest in heavy duty hybrids these days and Eaton Corp. is well positioned to take advantage of the market opportunity. With big truck brands like Peterbilt using their hybrid drivetrains and companies like Coca-Cola demanding them, the future is bright enough for the industrial manufacturer that they feel the need to further expand their operations center in Charleston Township, Michigan. They're about to add 20,000 sq.ft. on top of (literally) the 211,000 sq.ft. of multi-purpose building that already occupies the 112-acre campus, creating a third floor. Of course they'll need workers to fill the new space when it's finished in January and we expect they'll do just that. According to the manager of communications for Eaton's Truck Group, Don Alles, they expect to expand their already 600 strong workforce by 15 percent over the next five years.
