Finding yourself stuck in a truck? Gas guzzling got you down? You are certainly not alone. Though the most obvious thing to do would be to ditch the fuel-inefficient vehicle for a cheaper to run model, Fox Business has other ideas. Keep in mind that the current value of pickups, especially full-sizers, has dropped nearly as dramatically as the fuel prices have risen, so you're not likely to get what you owe, assuming you are still making payments. That's why getting out from under your purchase could end up costing you more than its worth.
If you're stuck with a gas-hog, what are your money-saving options? Umm... drive less. No, seriously. Consider public transportation and carpooling if possible. Ride your bike when its practical and even *gasp* walk. Of course, it's not always possible to walk or ride a bike to get where we need to go. Fox ends by suggesting a scooter as a second vehicle. It's worked out for lots of people already, but be sure to count that cost too before making any rash decisions. We're cycle fans who recognize the fun and low-costs associated with scooters, but safety and practicality cannot be ignored. Whatever you do, get used to it, 'cause gas isn't likely to begin dropping back down any time soon.

Bikes are great. This morning at 10 I suddenly needed to run downtown for some forms and briefly considered driving, then I thought about finding parking somewhere near where I was going and opted for a quick bike ride - 6 miles round trip - very quick - locked up the bike 10 feet from the door. Much quicker than a car and more fun and energizing!

Leave it to FOX news to brainwash dumb and stupid Americans even more. I'm sure they were also behind the utterly retarded concept of helping you buy fuel for 3 years at $2.99 a gallon...oh yea...go and RUN and buy a gas guzzler cause your checkbook says it's worth it.
Mentalities like this are why Americans are viewed as utterly retarded and dumb. THe whole point of turning in a truck that is a complete waste of resources is just that...TO SAVE RESOURCES....and if you say money as well, great. If not..oh well.
While Fox news wants everyone to keep pissing away resources because it's not "worth it" to think about our future and environmental problems in the long run, people need to get their sh8t together and realize that paying for a change now is going to be far cheaper and more effective than paying for a change 10-20 years from now when we are really and truly screwed.
Fox news = idiots..

Would we really expect Fox to recommend anything else but to burn as much oil as possible? They are the voice of the Grand Oil Party after all!!!!
