Donald Rumsfeld buys a Vespa

We've seen countless celebs go green by either choosing to drive in a hybrid vehicle, electric car or even a scooter. The latest well-known person we've heard has made the change to two-wheels might not be a celebrity by the strictest definition of the word, but we're sure you know his name: Donald Rumsfeld. We're going to leave any political bits out of this post and just suggest that it's nice to see well-known people make a fuel-saving purchase. The specific scooter model that Mr. Rumsfeld, former Defense Secretary of the United States, has chosen is the Vespa LX150. The fine-looking Italian is a capable mount and features a 150cc four-stroke engine which powers the metal-bodied machine up to around sixty miles per hour. Riders of scooters such as this one typically report fuel mileage of around seventy miles per gallon, which surely makes the Vespa Rumsfeld's most efficient ride.

Not smart. He'll need something a lot faster to escape the war crimes tribunal!

Kinda puts the lie to "war for oil" claims, huh?

I never though I would ever be hoping to see someone on a scooter to be blindsided, hit and killed by some jackass in a Hummer sipping on a latte and talking on their cellphone as they run a red light, until now.
I know, I know that sounds a little harsh. "It's the economy, stupid." But this guy is an evil, evil motherfucking son of a bitch who should be in jail with the rest of the Bush administration, and this just fucking disgusts me.

Wow, it took a whole five comments for some vile twerp to wish violence on Rummy. If Donald Anger's little keyboard defecation is still on this site in a few days we'll know that autobloggreen is just another moonbat hate site.

It's always interesting to listen to people so wrapped up in hatred that they wish death upon another. Yet, it's the 'other person' who is evil.
But on topic, if that's still allowed. This is another example, like the President's eco-friendly house, of people who many in the environmental movement rabidly hate actually doing what the environmentalists are advocating. As opposed to those they practically worship who consume huge amounts of energy while at home or while flying hither and yon to "save us" in their private jets.
It's too bad there are so many in the environmental movement that can't get beyond their personal politics and blind hatred to look objectively at the whole subject. It makes the rest of us look like gibbering nutjobs and doesn't help things in the least.

I'm not an environmentalist. Nor am i saying that my hoping that no good comes to rummy because of this is good or evil. All I can say is I am not one of the sacks of shit who lied to the American public, wiped my ass with the constitution, and have gotten thousands of American troops killed and thousands more injured in a pointless war when we should have been focusing all of our efforts in Afghanistan, where the fuckers that attacked us are. Rummy is a war criminal. What because he is riding a Vespa I am supposed to be all "oh, good for him, look he's a good guy now?" Am I supposed to celebrate the fact that someone who is one of the parties responsible for the oil and energy crisis today is doing what he can to save a few bucks at the pump now? BULLY TO YOU RUMMY! He's going to put anywhere between 70-249 miles on it before he parks it in his garage and never takes it out again, then sells it on craigslist next spring.

lol. Bush derangement syndrome, people.
You have to start wondering who are the greater hypocrites here. Bush and Rummy with their Vespas and eco-ranches... Gore with his big old mansions, Travolta who says global warming is a threat, as he flies about on his personal boeing?
The guy that writes Captain Capitalism bought a green motorbike. He was embarrassed when a freind pointed out the irony, since he thinks that human caused global warming is a crock!
My aunt likes to laugh about the person she heard call in to a radio show proud of how low they had turned their thermostat - degrees higher than my aunt has always had hers at.
Does the average person that doesn't beleive in global warming consume less than the average person that does?

Why are Democrats so hateful and intolerant? The same people who decry hate speech are the ones indulging in it. The irony.

anyway gasoline scooters are not really a plus in my mind. Go for a bicycle Don, or a electric assist bike or an all out electric scooter.

If you're not an environmentalist Donald, why are you posting here? Furthermore, what lies are you going on about? That Saddam had WMD? If that's the case, you have to take it up with every intelligence organization in the world, Saddam himself, _and_, most importantly for those around here with a conveniently spotty memory, former President Bill Clinton, former VP Al Gore, not to mention the likes of John Kerry, who were all saying the exact same things about the thug who used to head up Iraq. You say we should be focusing our efforts in Afghanistan and I say BS. The useful idiots were hot and bothered over our involvement, and how wrong it was, in Afghanistan following the attacks of Sept 11th and they would no doubt _still_ be ranting about it if not for the opening of the Iraq theater. A theater of operations that US Congress authorized. Again, set aside your blind hatred and try to think these things through, instead of ranting and raving about things you have been conditioned to rant and rave about.

Hmmmm.
1. What I find curious is that Bush is one of the most liberal Republican Presidents in the last 30+ years. You'd think liberals would love him but they don't. Meanwhile Clinton had a blast bombing the heck out of anyone he wanted to and nada from the BDS crowd.
2. I find it amusing that the same people who scream the most about Iraq, WMDs and Bush are often members of MoveOn.org. What's notable is that MoveOn.org pushed the argument in 2003, prior to the invasion, that we shouldn't invade because Saddam might use his WMDs on American soldiers.
3. This whole nonsense over "global warming" is precisely that. The silliness over CO2 is even worse. The only real reason why CO2 is being demonized is because the computer models use it as a means of creating water vapor in the upper portions of the atmosphere. This is because water vapor is dozens of times more efficient as a global warming agent than CO2. But you can't scare people with cries of "Too much water vapor will kill us all!!".
It sounds way too idiotic.
4. Higher levels of atmospheric CO2 is actually very beneficial. Plants use CO2 as a source of carbon and can reduce their water needs with higher levels of CO2. Plankton also grow faster and more abundant which results in more marine biomass.
5. "They found that over a period of almost two decades, the Earth as a whole became more bountiful by a whopping 6.2%. About 25% of the Earth’s vegetated landmass — almost 110 million square kilometres — enjoyed significant increases and only 7% showed significant declines."

or maybe they believe in free speach. your selfrightiousness (sp?) is showing.
that said, i would guess that rummy bought stock in vespa before the actual scooter itself in the hopes that his purchase would cause a sales surge in the number of people that would not normaly do so. are we supposed to believe that he will park his air conditioned chauffer driven limo to transport himself on this thing? (yes, i know, now mine is showing too.)

There will be no war crimes tribunal, so save that cr@p for down at the DNC (after they've moved into Chicago City Hall), or when you go for your next psychiatric exam. As for the Vespa, is this to save on gasoline? Well, here's the solution, you idiotic DUMBocrat Communists:
DRILL HERE!
DRILL NOW!
SPEND LESS!!!
