When we were brainstorming ideas for Earth Day posts, we thought about featuring the ten most exciting green cars we wish we could buy today. It turns out that there are at least twice as many green rides on the horizon that we'd really like to have today, so the list has expanded. We'd like to note that this list is far from complete; the green sector of the automotive industry is growing in leaps and bounds. Start here and join us for a guided preview of our future garages or jump ahead by clicking on a number below. Either way, enjoy!
There you have it. Take a look at our list and, as always, feel free to share your own favorites in the comments.

hola,
what about the air car from mdi that would cost under 20,000 and would go over 100 miles on a charge/tank of air.
What about the zenn city 150 miles on a charge that supposedly would charge in five minutes and also cost under 20,000. These aren't 100,000 dollar sport cars but cars that their manufacturer's claim they are going to bring to the market in 09. The miles sedan also seems be nice.

Probably deserves a mention more than ZAP, I'll grant you that. Same with Miles. But hey, there were only 20 slots. :)
Unfortunate that Aptera is only at #6 when it's the closest to hitting the market of the lot (and the most efficient, by a good margin, even better than the Loremo). But hey, these are Jeremy's picks. :)

MiEV, R1E, Bollore-Pininfarina BlueCar, Mixim, Toyota FT-HS ? All way more real and near term than most on this list. Sorry, but really weak.

The car I want is the Honda CR-Z, and it will be out sometime in 2009.
I was surprised not to see it on your list.

I wish more people would take interest in green cars. I find it funny that people still drive their fuel eating behemoths. I snicker as the price of fuel rises. People need to get out of thier SUV's and into something more economical before it's to late. Like this guy;
