Top 20 green cars we wish we could buy today, Number 5: Subaru G4e

The G4e represents Subaru's long-term electric car goals. Equipped with Li-Ion battery technology, the lightweight 5-door EV concept should offer a range of 125-miles. While it may not be as flashy as some of the vehicles on our pages, it's a real car and would work out quite nicely for a huge chunk of the world's population. The fact that it is distinctive but still features conventional looks may very well be what makes the G4e a success.
Getting closer to the top; read about Number 4.

The one really big deal about this car is the batteries. It's the only thing I know in the world outside of the lab that uses lithium vanadium oxide batteries -- they supposedly get double the energy density of li-ion (in the lab, they've gotten as high as 3x). I really want a lot more info on that aspect.
