Leonardo DiCaprio's newest ride? Vectrix, a very cool electric scooter
Our friends over at Ecorazzi are reporting that, according to sources, Leonardo DiCaprio bought a Vectrix plug-in electric scooter. Ecorazzi loves them up some Leo, writing about when he graced the cover of Vanity Fair's green issue and later produced the very green documentary the 11th Hour (see trailer below the fold). Leo on a Vectrix is really not that surprising if you remember that Ecorazzi caught Leo on a scooter before.
Along with being very green, the design of the Vectrix is almost bike like. From certain angles, you could mistake it for a bullet bike. Hey Leo, when it's released, we recommend also picking up an Enertia, the electric bike that AutoblogGreen took Enertia for a test drive and we really liked it. You should also check out the Tesla Roadster. They are starting to hit the roads and Matt Damon is getting one.

read a while ago elsewhere that he's not as outlandish and extravagant as other celebs. vectrix is expensive for its class but still its affordable. choices are probably that or the zap scooter.

Electric scooter..Toyota Prius how green of you...Then you charter a jet to take you and gisele bundabooty to a quiet dinner in Africa...lets see now..that Jet uses the same fuel as maybe 300 Hummers from LA to San Francisco and back. these scooters are no big deal in Europe and get used a lot. We are so selfcentered and the remakrs above proove it to me. America has a envy,ugly problem.

Leon, nice effort on behalf of the green movement...
It will help lower the gasoline price if more of us follow you .
Yet the real irony is that those stubborn assed gas machos driving V8 pickUps or Escalades would be grateful to you for helping lowering their gasoline bills as well.
What do you say? DuH? It is a catch 22 aint it?
I would say we should antagonize those morons for continuing to operate those guzzlers by insulting them , hmm?
It is the only way. Got any better idea, I would love to hear it....cuz I dont enjoy calling names at those poor stubborn souls myself as well... I am desperate,,, help me curing my mental illness....

I COMMEND LEONARDO DICAPRIO FOR HIS EFFORTS TO TRY & SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT! I AM PROUD THAT HE IS A YOUNG ACTIVIST FOR SAVING THE EARTH! I TOO, AM VERY CONCERNED & INTERESTED IN CLEANING UP & IMPROVING THE ENVIRONMENT. Hats off to Leo and to the gentleman - I believe the name was Keith - how uses an electric car. I am looking for one now also. We all have to do what we can. Yes, they may fly from point A to point B, but that can't be helped all the time. Point is, he's making a difference where he can and he should be commended not chastised for it!

I've wanted solar ower for a long time, in anything, house, houseboat, anything to keep off the grid. Just last night saw a nice solar castle in New Mexico for sale, too bad it cost over a million bucks. I should have saved my allowences.

I just checked the price on his scooter, 12,000. About the same as any 250cc scooter offered by Honda or Vesper. Sounds nice.
