Just how do you think up a HUMMER H2 scooter?
Filed under: HUMMER, On Two Wheels, Green Daily

Like the visualization of a young boy's nightmare, the Hummer scooter has arrived. An ungraceful mashup of Hummer styling (see the gas cap) and two wheels, this concept drawing from motorcycle artist Oberdan Bezzi certainly looks like a Hummer, but in a way that makes the folks at Autoblog heads hurt. The idea is that this scooter would have a 450 cc powerplant under the distinctive body panels. As we know, the Hummer/scooter debate has been going on for a while now. I wonder how they'll solve this. I, for one, am having a hard time imagining the type of person who would want one of these things.

Me.
I want one.
Most scooters are, um, dare I say, sissy-looking. This thing speaks to my man-parts. :) And 450cc is nothing to sneeze at.

Looks a lot like the Honda Ruckus, with a better body:

I don't think 450cc is really a "scooter", maybe a "motorcycle with unusually small tires" or something.

Scooters are anything BUT green. Sure they save you money on gas, but they leave a trail of smoky emissions.
btw, anything over 250cc requires a motorcycle license, which defeats the purpose of a scooter.

It's called a "maxiscooter". I have a 250cc Honda Reflex that can easily do the freeway at 65 and get 65mpg. The biggest is the Suzuki Burgman 650. When you get that big, MPG is more car-like. And a friend of mine rode his Burgman 400 from TN to Toronto and back last summer.

Looks like the scooter Harley Davidson made in the early 50s.. and that model had a DAF variomatic gearbox!

1970 called, it wants its scooter back... This thing is terrible looking. They tried to make a scooter look like a car and it just isn't right.

This strongly reminds me of the Honda Big Ruckus. Honda pulled the 250cc Big Ruckus from the U.S. market a year or two ago for lack of sales. The "rugged" styling was controversial, but a darn sight better than this Hummer idea. Seth, you might just be lucky enough to find a used one for sale. They're very solid scooters, much like the mechanically similar Reflex.

I think it's a pretty good joke. Especially with the too big for a scooter engine.

This is what would be considered the maxi-scooter category. It isn't even an impressively large engine. Suzuki has the burgman in a 400 or 650 which are more common than you would think, kind of a goldwing style. Speaking of the goldwing there is the silverwing by honda, another large displacement scooter. But impressively large are the 850-950 cc models being developed and produced....
My fav is the Aprilia Scarabeo 500 ie

To bigbenaugust- Sure, 450cc is as big as a motorcycle, but it's still a scooter because of the small tires, step-thru frame, and automatic transmission.
It's just an artist sketch, not from anybody at GM, and it's a cruel joke. So you get the off-road styling of a Hummer 4x4, but minimal off-road ability, unlike a dirt bike or quad which would outperform any 4x4 offroad. A perfect scoot for the 99% of Hummer buyers (read poseurs) who never drive off road.
